About Mandarin House Restaurant

Mandarin House Restaurant, located at 9105 All Saints Rd, Laurel, MD 20723, USA, offers a delightful Chinese dining experience for both dine-in and take-out customers. You can contact them at (301) 604-7234 or +1 301-604-7234.

Customers who have dined in at Mandarin House praise the excellent quality of the food. The entree portions are noted to be quite large, which customers feel justifies the slightly higher prices. While the soup bowls are smaller and less expensive than typical, they are considered fairly priced.

A standout appetizer seems to be the vegetable spring rolls, which have received excellent reviews. The service is also consistently described as great. The restaurant provides a pleasant ambiance with quiet, peaceful music playing in the background and nice art decorating the space.

The won ton soup is highlighted as flavorful, with a generous amount of scallions. Notably, Mandarin House also offers sui mai, a less common find. The meat inside the won tons is said to resemble a soup dumpling, and the noodles are soft. Priced at $2 per small cup, ordering multiple is recommended.

The fried rice is reported to contain egg, carrots, and peas, which are considered desirable ingredients. While not hard, it's also not described as particularly fluffy. The pan-fried dumplings are praised for being crispy and good, complemented by a delicious in-house dumpling sauce.

The lo mein is also well-received, with one reviewer drawing a comparison to a specific regional style but without the greasiness. A slight aftertaste, possibly from the dumpling sauce, was noted but not considered unpleasant.

The service experience is consistently positive, with attentive and polite waiters who strike a good balance of checking on customers without being intrusive, contributing to a memorable dining experience. If you're in Laurel and seeking a Chinese restaurant with excellent food, generous portions, and great service in a peaceful environment, Mandarin House Restaurant is highly recommended.

Dined in. Excellent food. Huge portions on entrees makes slightly higher price worth it. Soup bowls are less expensive and smaller than normal, so priced fairly. Excellent vegetable spring rolls. Great service. Quiet peaceful music playing in background. Very nice art decorating the restaurant.

I went on a Thursday where early dinner time was pretty empty. But I could tell from the won ton soup it was gonna be good. They even have sui Mai. The won ton soup was flavorful and they don’t skimp out on scallions either. The meat inside tasted like a soup dumpling to me and the noodles were soft. Each of those small cups were $2 so I recommend getting multiple. Their fried rice was nice as it had the egg and carrots and peas, all the good things. Wasn’t hard but I wouldn’t say it was fluffy either. Pan fried dumplings were crispy and good! Their dumpling sauce was also really good and made in-house! I wish that store brand sauce could be as good. Lo mien was good, noodles kinda tasted like San Antonio, TX’s version but without the grease and oil. Not sure if it was the dumpling sauce but there was a quick slight aftertaste. It was different than the noodles themselves but it didn’t make it unbearable. Service was great! I was the only one in there at that time but I think they balanced the right amount of checking up and the waiter was really polite, making the whole experience memorable!

I'm really happy to have an authentic Chinese food like this in Laurel area. So we don't have to drive to Columbia, Silver Spring or Odenton all the time.

Picked up carry out for some guys. The food was pretty good, but just above average, all in all the experience was pleasant. The food was ready for me to pick up. There was no waiting. The ambience of the store is awesome. Makes me feel like I travel back to time when fine Chinese dining was a thing.

I've ordered pineapple chicken from several other Chinese restaurants. It usually has mostly pineapple and chicken, with maybe some other stuff mixed in. At Mandarin House served me plenty of chicken, and the 5-10 small pineapple slices were overpowered by loads of mushrooms.
