About Mandarin Chinese Restaurant

Mandarin Chinese Restaurant is located at 6000 Meadowbrook Mall Ct #17 in Clemmons, North Carolina (27012, USA). As a "Chinese Restaurant," it aims to offer a variety of Chinese cuisine to the local community, with options including both buffet and potentially a la carte dining, as suggested by references to both lunch buffet and previous dinner experiences. Customer reviews present a mixed picture, with positive feedback regarding the lunch buffet and service contrasted by a serious report of food poisoning and concerns about food quality on the buffet.

As a Chinese Restaurant, Mandarin likely offers a menu encompassing popular Chinese-American dishes, potentially including a range of appetizers, soups, noodle and rice dishes, and various entrees featuring chicken, beef, pork, and seafood. The availability of a lunch buffet suggests a self-service format where customers can sample a variety of dishes at a fixed price. However, the starkly contrasting reviews indicate a potential inconsistency in the quality and safety of the food served, particularly in the buffet setting.

Regarding the environment of Mandarin Chinese Restaurant, one reviewer described the restaurant as "clean and kid friendly." This suggests that the establishment strives to maintain a tidy dining area suitable for families with children. This positive aspect of the environment is worth noting for potential diners who prioritize cleanliness and a welcoming atmosphere for their families. However, this positive description is juxtaposed with concerns raised about the quality and freshness of the food on the buffet, which could indirectly reflect on overall hygiene and food safety practices.

The service at Mandarin Chinese Restaurant received positive feedback from one reviewer who experienced the lunch buffet. They noted that the service was "excellent," with attentive staff who kept water glasses full and promptly cleared empty plates. The reviewer also mentioned that the owner was "conversational and kind," suggesting a personal and welcoming approach from the management. However, another reviewer recounted a negative interaction with a waiter regarding the ages of their children, describing the waiter's demeanor as unfriendly and sarcastic. This inconsistency in service experience is something for potential customers to consider.

Several features of Mandarin Chinese Restaurant are highlighted in the provided reviews. A significant feature is their lunch buffet, which was praised by one customer for offering "good" food at a "great price." This suggests that the buffet may be an attractive option for those seeking an affordable and varied lunch. The same reviewer specifically recommended the hot and sour soup and mei fun (rice noodles) as "excellent," indicating that these dishes may be particular strengths of the restaurant. The kid-friendly aspect mentioned by this reviewer also suggests that Mandarin aims to cater to families.

However, a severely negative feature reported by another customer was a case of "horrendous food poisoning" allegedly contracted after their husband consumed food from the lunch buffet. This is a critical concern and a serious incident that potential customers should be aware of. The reviewer also described the buffet food as looking like it had been "reheated several times" and noted that "the majority of the proteins were just hard and cold." These observations raise significant concerns about the freshness, quality, and potentially the safety of the food offered on the buffet. The reviewer expressed gratitude that their children primarily ate noodles, implying that other buffet items may have been of even lower quality or higher risk.

The stark contrast between the two reviews highlights a potential inconsistency in the quality and safety standards at Mandarin Chinese Restaurant, particularly concerning their lunch buffet. While one customer had a positive experience with fresh-tasting food and excellent service, another reported a serious health issue and described the buffet food as unappetizing and potentially mishandled. This discrepancy makes it difficult to provide a uniformly positive assessment of the restaurant's features.

Currently, there is no information available regarding any specific promotional offers or discounts at Mandarin Chinese Restaurant in the provided reviews. Customers have primarily focused on their dining experiences, both positive and negative. To inquire about any potential promotions, special menus, or current offerings, local users are advised to contact the restaurant directly using the provided phone numbers: (336) 712-1009 or +1 336-712-1009. Direct communication with the restaurant can provide the most up-to-date information on any current deals or changes to their services.

In conclusion, Mandarin Chinese Restaurant in Clemmons, NC, presents a complex picture based on the limited recent customer reviews. While it offers a lunch buffet that some find to be a good value with excellent service and a clean, kid-friendly environment, there is a serious report of food poisoning linked to the buffet, along with concerns about the food's freshness and quality. The significant discrepancy in customer experiences suggests potential inconsistencies in the restaurant's operations. Potential customers should carefully consider both the positive and negative feedback, particularly the serious food poisoning allegation, when deciding whether to dine at or order from Mandarin Chinese Restaurant. Further investigation or recent feedback from other sources might be beneficial before making a decision. For information on current promotions or services, direct contact with the restaurant is recommended.

Mandarin has a good lunch buffet at a great price. The service was excellent. Our waters stayed full and table was cleared as soon as a plate was empty. The restaurant was clean and kid friendly, and the owner was conversational and kind. The hot and sour soup was excellent as was the mei fun(rice noodles);two of my favorites.

** FOOD POISONING 3/8/25 **My husband had been wanting to try their lunch buffet for a while, we have been previous customers at dinner and I can’t explain how badly the buffet situation turned out. We came in with 3 children and the waiter asked their ages and we of course answered,he looked at us like we were crazy and then asked 2 more times to which we chuckled thinking does he not believe us?? Should I have brought a birth certificate to this buffet?? To which he said “NOT FUNNY” and walked off. Well my husband later that evening developed horrendous food poisoning.. we have been together 10 years and I have never heard him so sick. Most of the food looked like it had been reheated several times and the majority of the proteins were just hard and cold. We all took extremely few bites, paid our check and left. I am so thankful the kids stuck to noodles because it could have been a lot worse. it goes without saying but we will never be back

The food was delicious! Some of the best I've ever had. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. A calm atmosphere. There was no buffet, which is what we were looking for, but they only have the buffet for lunch. Still, we couldn't be disappointed because the food was so great. Large portion sizes, hot and fresh.
