I was seated quickly, and the service was just the right amount of interruptions... not intrusive or neglectful. The hot pot was very good, but I should have gotten beef; the chicken was a bit rubbery even after short cook times but not their fault - definitely my inexperience. The soju was really good as well.

We got the “mala bites” which was ingredients into a broth. Unfortunately, the meat for beef and lamb were super dry and tough. The soup was all oil and no flavor, which made us get stomachaches after. The potatoes and lotus root were also undercooked and hard. $60 for nothing good, would not come here again

@Malatang_arlington Traditional Sichuan cuisine has been an awesome addition to the DMV since 2011. ✨️ Pork soup dumplings: A great starter, in my opinion, with classic flavours and just always hits the spot! ✨️Custom mala dry pot: A spicy dry pot we got with noodles, chicken and veggies that is definitely a sharable dish and crowd pleaser. ✨️ Mala bites w/ Mala broth: This was SO good! You can get various skewers and the broth was deliiishhhh. We got beef skewers and quail eggs, which brought the meal together. Overall, a great place for Sichuan with hot pot to dry pot and delicious mala bites. There are definitely options for everyone to enjoy and I can see myself coming back here with my mum! - IG @ SpicyAivy

This place sucks the hot pot has no flavor at all. They also use tiny pots on top of the table with the flame under so there’s no way to control the heat level so it’s scorching hot soup with no flavor. It’s basically hot piss water in a tiny pot that barely anything fits in so you’re trying to eat and not burn your face off the whole time. If you wanna have a really awful hot pot experience just go here and then pay $200 for the garbage they served you. I wish I could get the hour of my life I spent at this so called restaurant.

We visited here thinking this was a real authentic Chinese food place, and left with mixed feelings. Service was actually decent. The food, not so much. We ordered an scallion pancake, and found a lot of pepper inside (see picture). This was absolutely not authentic. We also ordered steamed beef dumpling but received fried dumpling instead. For the hotpot combo, it was OK with a good balance of seafood, protein, and vegetable. For some reason though we were charged an additional broth $3.95. From the outside, this place looked very authentic Chinese. Yet there was no one speaking Chinese, from reception to waiter. The menu was English only and it was hard to read through translation. Pictures from previous reviewers showed a much nicer menu and apparently that was no longer the case. It seems the restaurant is under new management. It is a rather exotic than authentic place.
