Makanmakan Asian Streat Food Fare

I had such a great experience at this restaurant! The server was incredibly kind and attentive—super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. The chicken skewers were absolutely delicious. And the mango sticky rice? So good! Sweet, fresh, and just the right amount of creamy. Everything from the food to the service made the whole visit really enjoyable. Definitely a place I’d come back to!

WE LOVE THIS PLACE! We even had our wedding dinner here. We’re here almost once a week and have definitely become regulars because the food is SO GOOD and the family that owns the restaurant is so kind! I have celiac and they are able to do gluten free food for me. For the wedding they hosted a completely gluten free buffet of all our favorite dishes. We highly recommend the Singapore noodles, the laksa, the red curry fish, the Nasi Goreng Jawa, and of course the Makanmakan wings. Even our guests who describe themselves as *not* foodies were amazed by the food.

We are from LA and come up here to ski every year. This is a must go! If Michelin guide reviewed here, we think it’d would get bib gourmand. Katie was incredibly nice and served us with such care and was so helpful with picking dishes! We just wish this restaurant was in LA so we could enjoy such incredible Indonesian food. It’s incredibly authentic and everything was cooked to perfection. We highly recommend the Roti Canai, Beef Rendang, and the spicy eggplant.

We were out of town and just found this interesting restaurant so my husband and I tried it. It's small but clean and looked like a family owned restaurant. The server was nice and helped us with the menu. We tried several dishes and they were tasty. They even had an appetizer similar to the Filipino kikiam which is ground pork rolled in tofu skin which was really good.

Food: We began our meal with the Honey Glazed Lollipop Wings, which were a delightful start. The Nasi Goreng Jawa was a highlight, offering a spicy and flavorful fried rice that evoked the taste of Indonesian and Malaysian cuisine. However, the Laksa fell short of our expectations, not quite matching the flavors we remembered from Malaysia. The waiter explained it was a new flavor they were trying. On a positive note, the Beef Rendang was a classic, with tender beef that was perfectly cooked. Ambience: The ambiance was modest and reminiscent of food courts back in Malaysia, which added a nostalgic touch but didn't stand out as a particular highlight. Service: The service was commendable. Our waiter was extremely helpful and patient, thoroughly explaining the dishes and accommodating our special requests with kindness and efficiency. Cost: The pricing was reasonable, especially considering the generous portion sizes. It's worth noting that the large servings should be taken into account when ordering. Overall, it was a good dining experience with some standout dishes and excellent service, making it worth a visit.
