About Maison Chinoise
Located at 4152 Cole Ave #106 in Dallas, Texas, Maison Chinoise presents itself as an Asian fusion restaurant offering a unique and potentially upscale dining experience. Customers have described it as an exceptional choice for those seeking something beyond traditional Chinese cuisine, featuring a stunning array of highly curated small plates designed to be flavorful without being overly filling. The presentation of each dish is noted to be beautiful, reflecting the chef's creativity and attention to detail.
The ambiance of Maison Chinoise is considered impressive, boasting a lovely outdoor area. Additionally, there is a space at the back where guests can enjoy after-dinner drinks accompanied by music, making it a potential spot to unwind after a meal. The overall atmosphere is perceived as high-end, with a recommendation to dress up for the occasion. For added convenience, valet parking is available.
One reviewer specifically commended the manager, Alyssa, for enhancing their experience by recommending dishes and drinks tailored to personal tastes.
However, other reviews present a more mixed perspective. One customer mentioned a historical trend of restaurants at this location struggling to stay open and expressed hope that Maison Chinoise, having been open for over a year, would break this cycle. They described the space as upscale with a large patio that can be enclosed with clear plastic windows during blustery weather to maintain an open-air feel.
This reviewer found the staff to be low energy, lacking a sense of genuine care. While their server was knowledgeable about the menu, the service felt somewhat perfunctory, with inconsistent timing of courses. Appetizers arrived quickly, followed by a significant wait for the entree and sides. The desire for dessert was ultimately abandoned due to slow service in receiving the menu and having the order taken.
The food itself was described as a "mixed bag." While the pork dumplings and spicy edamame were good, the crispy beef spring rolls had an unusual lemony zest. The General Tso’s chicken was not bad but not particularly recommended. The green beans were tasty initially, but the spice level became overwhelming later in the portion.
Overall, Maison Chinoise seems to offer a finer dining environment for those interested in a more contemporary take on Asian cuisine. While some patrons have had exceptional experiences with unique dishes, ambiance, and service, others have noted inconsistencies in staff energy, service timing, and food quality. Local users looking for an upscale Asian fusion experience in Dallas may find Maison Chinoise worth a visit, but should be aware of the range of feedback regarding the overall dining experience.

If you're in the mood for a unique dining experience, this is an exceptional choice. This Asian fusion restaurant offers a stunning array of highly curated small plates that pack a punch in flavor without leaving you feeling overstuffed. Each dish is beautifully presented, showcasing the chef's creativity and attention to detail. The ambiance is just as impressive, with a lovely outdoor area, and at the back you can enjoy after-dinner drinks accompanied by music. It's the perfect spot to unwind after your meal. I would say that overall this is a high end place, consider dressing up. Valet parking adds a touch of convenience to the whole experience, making it easy to enjoy a night out without the hassle of finding a parking spot. A special shout out to the manager Alyssa, who took the experience to a whole new level, by recommending the perfect dishes and drinks according to our personal taste.
There’s something about restaurants at this location that feels off. Regardless of the type of cuisine, I’ve watched good restaurants come in only to see them close down. Maison Chinoise is the most recent restaurant to give this location a go. It’s been open for more than a year so we thought we’d give it a try. The space feels upscale and there is a large patio. They set it up so that if the wind is blustery, they can quickly drop down these clear plastic windows to shield you from the wind while retaining the open air feeling. The staff was low energy and didn’t convey a sense that they genuinely cared. I could barely hear the hostess’s voice emanating from her expressionless face. Our server educated us about the menu really well, but overall it felt like he was just going through the motions. They kept our water glasses topped up so we never lacked for hydration. The timing of things felt either too fast or too slow. We ordered several appetizers that all came out in rapid fire succession. Then we waited awhile for the entree and sides. We wanted dessert but it took so long for the waiter to get us the dessert menu and return to take our order, we gave up and passed on it. He didn’t seem to care either way. The food was a mixed bag ranging from odd to good. The pork dumplings and spicy edamame (which was flavorful but not spicy) appetizers were good. The crispy beef spring rolls had a weird lemony zest to them. They weren’t bad. I just could get my brain to compute the flavor profile. I had a similar experience with the General Tso’s chicken. It wasn’t bad, but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it. The green beans tasted good but the residual heat from the spice became too much about half way through the portion. If you really like Chinese food and want to experience it in a finer dining environment, Maison Chinoise fits the bill. In my opinion, there is something slightly askew going on and I hope they break the cycle of all of the prior restaurants that have given this location a try.
Maison Chinoise is a good spot but not without it's flaws. Upscale Chinese cuisine is a welcomed addition to the Dallas dining scene but flavors offer a little to be desired. Not 100% authentic but are still tasty. Cheaper more authentic options are available in the northern suburbs but of course require that drive. Will be back given then proximity.
The Fried Chicken Buns, Rock Shrimp, and Crispy Beef Rolls were amazing. The Crispy Crab Wontons & Lobster Dumplings were disappointing. Overall, 3 stars because the food was very hit or miss and pricey. (We’re talking $6-10 for a single dumpling.) Such a nice atmosphere though!
We had an amazing experience at Maison Chinoise last Saturday night with friends. The atmosphere was absolutely perfect, and every dish was executed beautifully with incredible flavors. The service was outstanding, especially thanks to our waiter, Billy. He truly made the evening special, and we’ll definitely be back—and requesting him again! Highly recommend this place for celebrating any occasion or even just a cozy date night.
