About Main Moon Chinese Restaurant (Salem)

Main Moon Chinese Restaurant is located at 200 E 2nd St in Salem, Ohio (zip code 44460), USA. As a local establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, Main Moon aims to provide a variety of Chinese culinary options to the Salem community, offering both dine-in and takeout services. They can be contacted at their phone number: (330) 337-8338 or their mobile phone number: +1 330-337-8338.

Based on recent customer feedback available online, experiences at Main Moon Chinese Restaurant appear to be significantly negative, with reviewers expressing serious concerns about the quality of the food, the condition of the premises, and the service received. One customer reported a widespread issue with their deep-fried food items, stating that the eggroll, crab rangoon, and chicken for their sweet and sour dish were all burnt. Additionally, they found the rice to be overcooked and noted the absence of packaged sauces. This customer mentioned that they had not experienced such problems before and expressed hope for improvement, indicating they would not return if the quality did not get better.

Another customer shared an even more alarming experience, stating they were not convinced they were eating real chicken, describing its taste as fishy. They also found the rice to taste like cardboard and described the overall food as "yuck." This reviewer also commented on the worn-down appearance of the place and described the service as having a "really weird vibe." While they mentioned that the eggroll was "alright," the overwhelmingly negative aspects of their experience led to a highly unfavorable review.

Considering these two recent reviews, there are critical issues highlighted regarding the food quality at Main Moon Chinese Restaurant. The report of multiple burnt deep-fried items suggests potential problems with cooking techniques or temperature control in the kitchen. The overcooked rice further indicates a lack of attention to detail in food preparation. The more severe claim of chicken tasting like fish and rice tasting like cardboard raises serious questions about the freshness and quality of ingredients being used. The absence of expected packaged sauces is also a notable negative point, as these are often standard accompaniments for many Chinese takeout dishes.

Furthermore, the negative feedback extends beyond just the food. One reviewer described the restaurant's appearance as "worn down," which could be a deterrent for potential dine-in customers. The comment about the "really weird vibe" of the service is also concerning, as it suggests a potentially uncomfortable or unprofessional atmosphere. These non-food-related aspects contribute to an overall negative impression of Main Moon Chinese Restaurant based on these recent experiences.

As a Chinese restaurant offering both dine-in and takeout, Main Moon likely has a menu featuring a variety of classic Chinese dishes, including deep-fried appetizers like eggrolls and crab rangoon, main courses such as sweet and sour chicken, and staple items like rice. The severely negative feedback on multiple categories of food – deep-fried items, rice, and even the main protein – indicates a widespread problem with the kitchen's output. The fact that one reviewer specifically mentioned a past positive experience suggests that the quality may have declined recently, making it even more important for potential customers to be aware of the current issues.

For local users in Salem and the surrounding areas considering Main Moon Chinese Restaurant, the available recent feedback presents a strong cautionary message. The reports of burnt food, poorly cooked rice, questionable protein quality, a worn-down environment, and weird service vibes should be taken very seriously. Potential customers may want to think twice before choosing to dine at or order from this establishment based on these recent experiences. It might be prudent to explore other Chinese restaurant options in the Salem area that have more positive and consistent recent reviews.

Given the overwhelmingly negative nature of the recent reviews, there is no basis to infer any positive aspects regarding the environment, services, or features of Main Moon Chinese Restaurant. No promotional information was included in the provided text. Therefore, local users who might still be considering this restaurant should be fully aware of the significant negative feedback concerning their food quality, service, and the condition of the premises. Seeking alternative dining options would likely be a more advisable course of action based on the information available.

In conclusion, recent customer reviews for Main Moon Chinese Restaurant in Salem, OH, paint a dire picture of the establishment. Reports of burnt deep-fried food, overcooked rice, questionable chicken, a worn-down environment, and weird service suggest significant issues that potential local customers should be aware of. Based on this feedback, it would be wise to consider other Chinese dining options in the area.

I'm not even convinced I was eating real chicken honestly. Place looked worn down, chicken tasted like fish and rice tasted like cardboard. Yuck. Eggroll was alright but service honestly was really weird vibe.

Not my favorite place to get Chinese food but it’s the closet to me so that’s where I go. The folks here are always friendly and accommodating. The menu always seems to disappear so I took a picture and saved it.

I've been going to Main Moon for over 10 years, and their food was always delicious, my orders were always correct, but the last 3 times I've gone here the food was terrible and usually something in my order was missing or wrong. The food is so bland, nothing tastes good anymore which has left me very sad as I used to love this location. I don't know if they switched owners or something, but the quality has plummeted. I spent upwards of $40 dollars here this evening and the food was so bland that I couldn't even eat it. Very upsetting. Won't be ordering again, I'm sorry.
