Welcome to Main Moon Chinese Restaurant (Austintown), a local establishment situated at 1502 S Raccoon Rd, Austintown, OH 44515, USA. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant platform category, Main Moon aims to serve the Austintown community with a diverse menu of Chinese cuisine, primarily focusing on takeout services based on the available customer feedback. For inquiries or to place orders, they can be reached at phone number (330) 799-1338 or mobile phone +1 330-799-1338.

Based on the recent customer reviews, experiences at Main Moon Chinese Restaurant (Austintown) appear to be somewhat varied. One first-time customer reported a positive experience, ordering the sweet and sour chicken and BBQ square ribs (boneless) combo dinners. They noted that both came with a choice of rice (white, pork fried rice, or plain fried rice) and roast pork rolls. This reviewer highlighted the neat packaging, inclusion of utensils and fortune cookies, abundant portions, and overall tasty food. While they mentioned that some pieces of the square ribs were chewy and could have been cooked more evenly, their overall impression was positive, leading them to highly recommend Main Moon as a spot for a quick and cheap dinner.

In contrast, a long-term customer shared a disappointing recent experience, expressing a sense of wavering loyalty after years of patronage. They ordered a large portion of General Tso chicken with a side of chicken fried rice. While they found the chicken to be "okay," they noted it wasn't the best they'd had. The chicken fried rice was a significant point of dissatisfaction, described as being more like "onion fried rice" due to the excessive amount of onions and the absence of typical ingredients like carrots and peas. Furthermore, they found the chicken and the rice to be bland, lacking flavor. This reviewer also mentioned that their usual order of General Tso chicken typically includes a few pieces of broccoli, which were missing in this instance. They speculated about a change in kitchen staff or routine and expressed a willingness to give Main Moon another chance due to their history with the restaurant. However, they also stated that repeated negative experiences would lead them to discontinue their patronage, given the cost of the food.

Considering these two reviews, Main Moon Chinese Restaurant (Austintown) seems to offer combo meals with generous portions and a variety of rice options, along with extras like roast pork rolls, utensils, and fortune cookies, which can be seen as a positive feature for convenience and value. The mention of "quick and cheap dinner" by one reviewer suggests that they might offer competitive pricing, although this is not explicitly confirmed by the second reviewer who found the food to be "too expensive" for a dissatisfying meal.

Information regarding the environment of Main Moon Chinese Restaurant (Austintown) is not provided in the customer reviews. Typically, Chinese takeout restaurants focus primarily on food preparation for off-site consumption, so the ambiance of a dine-in area, if one exists, is not detailed. The positive reviewer's emphasis on neat packaging suggests that they are well-equipped for takeout orders. The lack of comments about dining in might indicate that their primary business is indeed takeout.

In terms of services, Main Moon Chinese Restaurant (Austintown) clearly offers takeout. The positive review highlights the inclusion of utensils, indicating they cater to customers eating their meals elsewhere. The phone numbers provided suggest that they accept phone orders. The contrasting experiences with food quality and consistency indicate a potential variability in their service delivery, particularly in maintaining their food standards across different orders or perhaps different kitchen staff.

Features of Main Moon Chinese Restaurant (Austintown) that can be inferred from the reviews include their combo dinners, which offer a main dish, rice, and roast pork rolls. The availability of different rice options (white, pork fried rice, plain fried rice) provides some choice for customers. The generally positive feedback on taste from one reviewer, along with the mention of "tasty" sweet and sour chicken and BBQ square ribs, suggests that they are capable of producing flavorful dishes. However, the inconsistency in the preparation of the square ribs (some chewy pieces) and the blandness and ingredient omissions in the General Tso chicken and fried rice reported by another customer indicate a potential lack of consistent quality control.

Promotional information is not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. Local users interested in any current specials, discounts, or new menu items at Main Moon Chinese Restaurant (Austintown) would need to contact the restaurant directly using the provided phone numbers or check for any online presence they might have on local food ordering platforms or social media, although no such information is included in the given data.

In conclusion, Main Moon Chinese Restaurant (Austintown) appears to be a local Chinese takeout restaurant offering combo meals with generous portions and a variety of options. While one customer had a very positive first experience, praising the taste and value, a long-time customer reported a significant decline in food quality and consistency in a recent order. This suggests that while Main Moon may be capable of providing tasty and satisfying meals, there might be inconsistencies in their food preparation. Local users considering ordering from Main Moon should be aware of these mixed reviews and may want to inquire about the preparation of specific dishes when placing their orders to ensure they meet their expectations.

Our first time ordering from this location, we got the sweet and sour chicken and bbq square ribs (boneless) combo dinners. They both came with choice of rice (white, pork fried rice, or plain fried rice) and roast pork rolls. Everything was neatly packed with utensils and fortune cookies, portions were abundant, and it was very tasty! The square ribs could have been cooked more evenly, some pieces were soft and others were chewy. Overall, I highly recommend this spot for a quick and cheap dinner!

My family has eaten at this restaurant for years and we have always been Main Moon loyal. After today I don’t know. After years of eating here I had my first bad experience today. I got. Large order of General Tso chicken. I don’t know if I spelled it right. With a side of what was supposed to be chicken fried rice. The chicken was okay still not the best. The rice was more like onion fried rice it was so much onion in there. No carrots no peas the chicken was Bland absolutely no flavor, the rice was bland as well. Usually when I get this order I have a few pieces of broccoli in there. I don’t know if the usual cook took the day off or what. 🤨 I will give them another chance this being my first negative experience in years but if it happens again can’t do it. Food is too expensive to be wasting money on something you can’t eat.

Waiting at time given it would be done in drive thru and they are quick to take the money but then if someone is behind you they want you to come inside? Why have a drive thru then? Makes zero sense. After double the time we were told the rude guy at window FINALLY gives us our order and we get home, rice is over cooked and gooey and the shrimp egg was under cooked and raw. Totally discussed with this place. Never will I waste my money here again. Unbelievable. Rather drive from Austintown to Howland at least they are top notch with food and service. Lesson learned

Avoid This Place at All Costs! I got food poisoning last Wednesday, and it lasted a miserable three days. It was some of the worst sickness I’ve ever experienced—nausea, stomach cramps, severe vomiting, severe diarrhea, and everything that comes with bad food. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. If you value your health, stay far away from this place. Clearly, they have serious food safety issues. Consider yourself warned!

Ordered pork lo mein with hardly any pork in it or vegetables and it was dry as could be! Added a couple of packs of teriyaki sauce which made it better, but still! The egg roll was also burned on the outside although good inside! Would not recommend!
