About Magic Wok
Welcome to Magic Wok, a unique Chinese Restaurant located at 734 S Wolfe Rd in Sunnyvale, California. As a family-owned establishment, Magic Wok offers a warm and personal touch to its diverse menu, which thoughtfully blends the rich traditions of Chinese and Filipino cuisine. This distinctive combination sets Magic Wok apart, providing local users with an opportunity to explore a delightful fusion of flavors in a convenient setting.
While one customer noted that the physical space might appear a "lil run down," it's important to recognize that the heart of Magic Wok lies in its food and the dedicated family behind it. The focus here is on delivering tasty and affordable meals, prepared with care. The fact that it's family-owned often translates to a passionate commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, as the owners are deeply invested in their business and their community.
In terms of services, Magic Wok primarily operates as a takeout restaurant, a change implemented since the COVID-19 pandemic. While indoor seating is currently unavailable, this allows you to enjoy their flavorful offerings in the comfort of your own home or preferred location. The efficient takeout service ensures that you can easily access their menu and bring their culinary creations to your table.
The features of Magic Wok are truly what make it stand out. The menu offers a fascinating intersection of Chinese and Filipino dishes. According to customer reviews, the Pancit Canton, a Chinese-style noodle dish with vegetables, shrimp, and chicken, is particularly delicious and well-received. The Lumpia, Filipino-style spring rolls, are also highlighted as a tasty option. This suggests a strength in their Chinese-inspired offerings.
On the Filipino side, the Pinoy Breakfast A Pork Tosilog comes highly recommended, especially the double meat option. This classic Filipino breakfast typically includes sweet cured pork (tosino), fried rice (sinangag), and a fried egg (itlog). The recommendation to use the included vinegar to enhance the flavors of the pork and egg yolk speaks to the authenticity and attention to detail in their Filipino dishes. Another Filipino dish mentioned was the Chicken Silog, which includes sunny-side-up eggs, egg-fried rice, and deep-fried chicken wings, offering a hearty and satisfying meal.
One customer's experience with the Sisig, a popular Filipino dish, was more nuanced, rating it as "mid" (3/5) due to a preference for a more flavorful rendition. This highlights that while Magic Wok offers a variety of dishes, individual tastes can vary. The reviewer still expressed a willingness to return and try other items, indicating an overall positive impression of the restaurant's potential.
The affordability of Magic Wok is another significant feature. One customer mentioned spending only $56 for a substantial amount of food, underscoring the value offered. This makes it an attractive option for those looking for a budget-friendly meal without compromising on taste or quantity.
While specific promotional information was not provided in the reviews, the consistent positive feedback regarding the taste and affordability suggests that Magic Wok offers inherent value to its customers. Honestly the service was nice the lady that took our order and serve us the food was nice . It’s only family owned so I love the fact they’re all their helping their mom which I think the owner . Tbh the sisig was mid like 3/5 I’m very picky when comes to sisig I like flavorful bc it’s one of a Filipino staple dish . My bf had the chicken silog which contains sunny side up eggs , egg fried rice and deep fried chicken wings . The pancit canton I like it was like Chinese style which was delicious with veggies , shrimp and chicken . The lumpia was delicious too . I tried for my drink was the manis con yellow it’s ok . The place is just more just a lil run down but it’s ok to dine in and enjoy a meal . Definitely will come back see what other items to try it was cheap and affordable. Only costed $56 for all this food . I think some things are better than others so definitely check out yelp and look at the popular items on what to get .
This place has always been a favorite spot for lunch. Since covid, they no longer have indoor seating. That said, the Pinoy Breakfast A Pork Tosilog is a must-have. Always go for the double meat option for good measure. Don't forget to use the vinegar they include as it brings out the flavor of the pork and egg yolk!
Great filipino cuisine. I highly recommend their breakfast combo option. I have had it multiple times.
They have pretty good sisig (with the pig ears and cheek). Pancit bihon was meh. Stopped by to pick up some sisig but they're closed for renovations with no date for reopening. They need to update their hours here and on their restaurant website. -1 for service.
The food and portion are great. The food was really hot(temperature) which is a positive for me. They also have home made limonade in bottle that is delicious. We dine in with family of 4. Will come back.
