About Made In Asia

Welcome to Made In Asia, a Chinese restaurant situated at 39 Market Street in Zion Crossroads, Virginia. This establishment offers a diverse range of Asian cuisine to local residents and travelers passing through the area. While the name suggests a broad Asian influence, it operates under the platform category of a Chinese restaurant, indicating that Chinese dishes are a significant part of its offerings. Based on recent customer feedback, Made In Asia presents a dining experience with both positive and potentially improvable aspects.

One customer shared their experience with the Seafood Curry Hot Pot, a dish that was described as "savory yet a little too sweet" for their personal preference. The hot pot presentation, while visually appealing with its continuous steam cooking the seafood, led to some textural issues. The clams became "too chewy" as they continued to cook in the residual heat, and the calamari was noted to have a batter that seemed to be made with an "off flower," resulting in chunks detaching from the seafood. Furthermore, the seasoning of the calamari was applied at the end, on top of a bed of greens, which the reviewer could not enjoy due to this preparation method. Despite these criticisms regarding the specific dish, the reviewer did mention that the restaurant "looked great" and appreciated the unique pot in which the soup was served. However, they also noted that the soup contained a significant amount of sliced onion, which they felt might have contributed to the overall sweetness as it caramelized in the steam. Despite these points of critique, the reviewer concluded with a willingness to return, suggesting an overall positive impression of the freshness of the ingredients, albeit with some execution errors in the preparation of their chosen dish.

In contrast to the detailed feedback on the Seafood Curry Hot Pot, another customer provided an overwhelmingly positive review, describing the restaurant as "absolutely amazing!!!!" They specifically mentioned three staff members, Baou, Yalonda, and Shannon, referring to them as "dolls" and reiterating that the place was "beyond amazing!!!!" This brief but enthusiastic review indicates a very positive service experience and overall satisfaction for this particular diner. It highlights the potential for excellent customer service to significantly enhance the dining experience at Made In Asia.

Considering these two recent reviews, it appears that Made In Asia offers a dining environment that is visually appealing and has the potential for excellent service, as highlighted by the second reviewer. The first review provides specific feedback on the Seafood Curry Hot Pot, pointing out areas such as the sweetness of the sauce, the texture of the seafood due to continued cooking in the hot pot, and the preparation of certain ingredients like the calamari and onions. This suggests that while some dishes might have elements that could be refined, the use of fresh ingredients is implied by the reviewer's willingness to return.

As a Chinese restaurant in Zion Crossroads, Virginia, Made In Asia serves a local community and likely aims to provide a welcoming atmosphere and a variety of Asian-inspired dishes. The contrasting reviews suggest that individual experiences might vary depending on the specific dishes ordered and personal preferences. The mention of the restaurant looking "great" implies attention to the ambiance and decor, which can contribute positively to the overall dining experience.

I got the Seafood Curry Hot Pot and it was Savory yet a little too sweet for me and the steam of the pot continued to cook my seafood making it a little chewy so I tried to rush and eat the clams but it was too chewy and the calamari was battered in off flower I can tell but how the chunks came off the. Because they seasoned the calamari at end on top of greens I couldn’t eat the greens under the calamari which I do eat a some folks see it as garnishes. The place looked great the plates were old and chipped zoom in on my pics. I liked the pot the soup came in but I didn’t need a whole onion cut up like noddles maybe a little not the whole onion. Which probably cause the soup to become even more sweet as it caramelized in the steam. Anyway Still would come back. It seamed to be fresh just cooked with small errors.

New to the area and asked the waiter what dishes he loved, he suggested crispy beef (it is a spicy dish). The waiter then asked me how spicy I wanted it. That is a great sign for a good Asian restaurant. The dish is delicious.

We walked over to this place while we were charging our EV. Pleasantly surprised! We shared general tso and chicken broccoli + steamed dumplings. The general tso was nice chunks of white chicken. We'd def go here again.

I can't say enough about how kind and conscientious the owners of this restaurant are. In addition to excellent service while I was there, they went above and beyond to mail me the debit card I accidently left there while passing through on a road trip. Great food! Great people! Support them!
