This dish is highlighted as a standout, offering a well-balanced and moderately spicy flavor profile with nuanced seasoning and high-quality ingredients. Great spot for Chinese food! Really hit the Dry Pot Craving. We got 6 items between the two of us and that was more than enough!

The dry pot here is definitely the standout, offering a well-balanced, moderately spicy flavor with nuanced seasoning and high-quality ingredients. We also tried the 1000-year egg appetizer but found it lacking - it had a limited quantity of century eggs, and the peppers weren't deseeded which packed considerable heat that might be overpowering for some. Service is prompt and efficient, and the restaurant has a modern, upscale vibe.

Came here for my friend’s birthday. To start off they were able to accommodate a cake we brought for her, which I really appreciated! The dry pot bowl was delicious and abundant. There’s 3 spice levels which is great so everyone can enjoy it the way they like. Apps were good too! Come at happy hour time to enjoy strong and very good cocktails too.

I highly recommend this restaurant for group dinners. One standout aspect of our visit was the exceptional service provided by Paola. He was incredibly kind and friendly, making our dining experience enjoyable and memorable. Paola recommended the dry pot, and it was absolutely delicious. It's a must-try dish, and we'll definitely be coming back for more.

10/10 hands down. perfectly numbing. delectably spicy. consistently amazing. whenever I have a spice-tolerant friend visiting NYC, i bring them here. there are hella hot pot and a handful of dry pot places around the city, but NONE do it like mala project. my go-to “i’m sad and need a pick-me-up” food. my go-to “i’m coming back to nyc after traveling for a long time and need a taste of home” food. my go-to “omg, i have 15% off uber eats rn, i’m so rich” food. the vibes of each brick and mortar location are like 1920s china and make it a really fun and vibey space to be. go for their lunch specials!!
