Went for the lunch special specials. Wife got the daily special (sweet sour shrimp, pork chow mein, pork fried rice) and i got the conbo 4 (see menue photos). Restaurant had 10 to 12 tables full. Our order was taken quickly, hot tea came out right away. Moments later, our food arrived. Good quantity for the price and was filling. The menue items were fresh, tasty, and did not disappoint.Place was clean and the servers were friendly even though they were clearly busy. Upon my request, they brought out hot oil and chilie paste. They do have saracha. Personal preference though for golden crown chow mein instead(less celery). Oh, the fortune cookies are fantastic, something to look forward to as we finished the pot of tea. Overall, lunch was very good and will go back again.
Always have great Chinese food! We never get a bad entrée from here. The prices are good and the service is great..
Tiffany created such a warm and welcoming experience—it truly felt like family! Her attentiveness made all the difference. The portion sizes were unbelievably generous, and every dish was freshly prepared and served to perfection. Highly recommend!
We decided to finally try this for the first time tonight as we've heard a lot of folks talk about this place through social media. We ordered on their website for pick-up and the total wait time from getting there to food pick up was around 12 minutes. Definitely fast and good service, and I can't really say the food was bad - it just left a lot to be desired. Fried rice was extremely bland which was a serious letdown. The chow mein was decent, the sweet and sour chicken wasn't crisp/soft in some bites but the sauce was decent. Honestly the best dish was the Mu Shu Pork - would recommend that for sure from a presentation and taste standpoint. Salem is a very weird city in the sense that there is no defact-o Chinese restaurant anymore these days. All have their own singular dish that's great, and everything else is mediocre - average - food. Lum-Yuen is another example of that. Solid 3 star. ⭐⭐⭐
The last 3 times I’ve ordered something has been wrong with my order, not sure what has changed. They’ve either forgotten something completely or doubled something and not added something else. Tonight I got two things of sweet and sour chicken instead of one and a sesame chicken. (I won’t eat sweet and sour chicken) Last time they gave me two almond chickens when I asked for cashew chicken instead of an almond chicken and forgot the sweet and sour chicken. Before they forgot the rice. The last two times I’ve called they’ve offered little solution other than to say sorry so I didn’t even bother calling tonight I just won’t be back. Which is a bummer because I’ve been ordering here at least 2 x monthly for the last 6 years.
