Lucky House Seafood Restaurant

I came across LuckyHouse Seafood Restaurant and noticed it seemed to be a grand opening. Curious, I decided to give it a try. When I arrived at 4pm, the restaurant was nearly empty, with only two other people dining. It made me wonder where are the customers? The menu looked interesting, but the prices seemed high for the overall ambiance of the place. Still, I decided to try it out. I ordered the House Fried Rice and the Lucky Roasted Pork. The food wasn’t bad at all; in fact, it was okay. However, I did find it a bit pricey for what it offered. One downside was the service. The server had difficulty understanding my questions, which made communication challenging. In the end, I just ordered something simple that I was craving at the moment. Overall, the food was decent, but the pricing and service could use some improvement. I hope they work on these aspects as they establish themselves.

I’d randomly pass this place living in the South West so I decided to try it. There’s not too many dim sum places around my area so this is a plus. We came on a Sunday and it was pretty packed. We didn’t have a big party so we got seated pretty fast. Since it was our first time here, we decided to get the go-to common dim sum and that’s when we realized our first mistake. The portion of the dim sum is huge! As a warning, be cautious of the size of the dim sum because it’ll get you full fast for sure. One dim sum is about the portion of 2 at regular spots. This for sure can be a pro/con depending on how you like your dim sum. If you’re not too familiar with ordering dim sum, I’d say to order anything that says dumpling or siu mai and you’ll be fine. If you wan’t to be more adventurous, I’d suggest Beef Tripe, Deep Fried Taro and Steamed Rice Roll with Shrimp. At any dim sum spot, I’ll always suggest to use the soy sauce and vinegar (more vinegar than soy sauce). I’d also say add the chili sauce for an additional depth of flavor. Overall, just remember that the portions are bigger than normal. They usually have your ordered printed out and they cross it as it goes. I’d suggest ordering a few items and noting how many you have left. Then make the assessment after of if you’d want more food or not. Either way, left over Chinese food is always good in my opinion.

The food is so good! This is Cantonese cuisine so the flavour is light and I love it. Staff may not speak English but I do not have any problem with it. They are impressively attentive, and prompt.
