Recent online reviews for Lucky Chinese Restaurant present significant concerns regarding various aspects of the dining experience, including communication during ordering, food quality, and order accuracy. Potential customers should carefully consider this feedback.

One reviewer recounted a challenging experience when attempting to place a phone order. They mentioned that the "lady accent is sooo thick" that they were unable to understand what was being said. This communication barrier led them to visit the restaurant in person, where they then spoke with a woman who had "absolute perfect english," successfully placing their order. However, the experience took a turn for the worse upon arriving home with the food. The reviewer reported that their chicken was "unusually hairy" and that they found "shrimp shells" in their shrimp fried rice. They also noted that they were the only customer present at the restaurant at the time of their order, expressing confusion as to why their food was prepared with such issues. This review raises serious concerns about food preparation and quality control at Lucky Chinese Restaurant.

Another customer who visited Lucky Chinese Restaurant on January 17, 2025, shared an extremely negative experience with their order. They purchased spare ribs tips with roast pork lo mein and requested extra broccoli, for which they paid $11.89. The reviewer's reaction was strongly negative, stating "Omg!! 😳😱 It was sooo awful." They described the roast pork lo mein as dry with large pieces of pork and, contrary to their request, containing "no broccoli at all." They concluded by calling the dish "disgusting" and vowed, "Never go there again. Not at all." This review highlights significant problems with food quality and accuracy of orders, suggesting a lack of attention to detail in the kitchen.

These two recent reviews paint a concerning picture of Lucky Chinese Restaurant. The first review details difficulties in communication during phone ordering, followed by alarming issues with the food itself, including the presence of unexpected and unpleasant items. The second review describes a dish that was dry, lacked a requested ingredient, and was deemed inedible by the customer. Both reviews strongly suggest potential issues with food quality, preparation standards, and attention to customer orders at this establishment.

As a Chinese restaurant, Lucky Chinese Restaurant would typically offer a menu featuring a variety of classic Chinese dishes, such as fried rice, lo mein, spare ribs, and various chicken, beef, and seafood preparations. Lunch specials are also common. However, the negative feedback received calls into question the quality and preparation of these standard offerings at Lucky Chinese Restaurant.

Information regarding the specific environment or ambiance of Lucky Chinese Restaurant is not provided in these reviews. However, the issues raised about food quality and preparation might lead potential customers to have concerns about the overall hygiene and standards of the establishment.

In terms of services, Lucky Chinese Restaurant likely offers both dine-in and takeout options, as is typical for most Chinese restaurants. The first reviewer placed a takeout order after experiencing communication difficulties over the phone. The second reviewer also seems to have placed a takeout order. The fact that phone orders are taken is evident, although one customer experienced a significant communication barrier. The quality of service beyond order taking is not detailed, but the issues with order accuracy and food preparation reflect poorly on the overall service provided.

Features that might typically attract customers to a Chinese restaurant include flavorful food, reasonable prices, efficient service, and a pleasant dining environment. However, the recent reviews for Lucky Chinese Restaurant highlight a lack of these positive features. Instead, they point to potential communication barriers, poor food quality (hairy chicken, shrimp shells in fried rice, dry lo mein, missing ingredients), and inaccurate order fulfillment. These negative aspects overshadow any potential positive features the restaurant might offer.

Promotional information is not included in the provided reviews. Restaurants often use specials or discounts to attract customers. However, in light of the serious concerns raised in the feedback regarding food quality and order accuracy, any potential promotions would likely be of little interest to potential diners until these fundamental issues are addressed. It would be prudent for the restaurant to focus on improving the quality of their food and the accuracy of their orders before attempting to attract new customers with promotions.

In conclusion, the recent online reviews for Lucky Chinese Restaurant in Richmond, VA, raise significant concerns regarding communication during phone orders and, more importantly, the quality and accuracy of the food served. Reports of unusual items in the food and poorly prepared dishes should give potential customers pause. Individuals considering dining at or ordering from Lucky Chinese Restaurant should carefully weigh this recent feedback and perhaps explore alternative Chinese dining options in the Richmond area. The reported issues suggest a need for immediate and significant improvements in food preparation, quality control, and order fulfillment at this establishment. Contacting the restaurant directly at (804) 279-8969 or +1 804-279-8969 might provide an opportunity to voice these concerns, but the strong negative feedback warrants significant caution.

So I call up there to place a order but the lady accent is sooo thick, I dont know wat she saying. So i decide to come in, then I speak with a woman who speaks absolute perfect english. Next, i get home my chicken was unusually hairy and then I find shrimp shells in my shrimp fried rice. I was the only person there, so I just dont see why my food was a mess.

For years I’ve only eaten Chinese from here! They’re always accurate, very personable and Food is always fresh and yummy. Whenever I order, I order big and they always give a complimentary tea (8) per meal 2 orders with 4 meals each (family deal). And as a long time customer, I appreciate that!

I was really enjoying this spot until I ordered their ā€œbourbon chickenā€ :( Not sure if I received someone else’s order or if this actually is their bourbon chicken….but there was nothing bourbon about it, lol.
