Based on recent customer reviews, there are some considerations regarding the value and composition of their dishes that local users may find helpful.

Services Offered:

According to customer reviews, Lucky 7 exclusively offers takeout service and does not have a dine-in option. This focus on takeout suggests that the restaurant is geared towards providing convenient meals for customers to enjoy at home or elsewhere. Delivery services are not mentioned in the provided reviews, so local users seeking delivery would need to inquire directly with the restaurant about their options or if they utilize third-party delivery platforms.

Features and Menu Highlights:

The limited customer feedback provides some insights into specific dishes offered at Lucky 7:

  • Sweet and Sour Shrimp: One customer ordered the sweet and sour shrimp for $17 and received eight pieces of deep-fried, battered shrimp with the sauce. Steamed rice was an additional $4. The customer expressed disappointment with this dish, expecting lightly battered or grilled shrimp with vegetables and pineapple for the price. They felt the dish was lacking in components and value, leading them to purchase frozen vegetables to add to it.
  • Chicken and Mushroom: Another customer, who noted that Lucky 7 "used to be banging" (meaning very good), reported a significant decline in quality after a few months' absence. They ordered the chicken and mushroom dish for a total dinner cost of $30 and were dissatisfied to find only about four pieces of chicken, with the rest of the dish consisting primarily of green pepper and celery. This customer expressed unhappiness with paying a substantial amount for a meal that was mostly inexpensive vegetables and lacked the promised main ingredient.

The reviews suggest that while Lucky 7 may have had a better reputation in the past, recent experiences indicate potential issues with the balance of ingredients in their dishes and the perceived value for the price.

Environment:

Since Lucky 7 operates as a takeout-only establishment, there is no information available regarding a dine-in environment. Customers would not be eating at the premises. Therefore, aspects such as ambiance, decor, and seating arrangements are not relevant to the service offered by Lucky 7.

Customer Feedback and Considerations:

The available customer feedback for Lucky 7 raises concerns about both the quality and value of their food. One customer was disappointed with the sweet and sour shrimp, feeling it was overpriced for what was received and lacking in expected ingredients. Another customer, a returning patron with positive past experiences, reported a significant decline in the quality of the chicken and mushroom dish, which was heavily comprised of inexpensive vegetables and contained very little chicken, especially considering the $30 cost of their overall dinner.

These reviews suggest potential issues with the restaurant's current approach to ingredient ratios and pricing. Local users considering ordering from Lucky 7 should be aware of these recent experiences. The feedback indicates that some dishes might not meet expectations in terms of the quantity of the main protein and the overall composition relative to the price charged. The fact that one customer felt their own cooking was better and another will not be returning suggests a significant level of dissatisfaction.

Given these negative reviews, it would be prudent for potential customers to inquire about the specific contents of dishes and their portion sizes before placing an order. The discrepancy between past positive experiences and recent negative ones indicates a possible shift in the restaurant's standards or practices.

Promotional Information:

The provided information does not include any details about current promotions, discounts, or special offers at Lucky 7. As a takeout-only restaurant with recent negative feedback regarding value, any promotional offers might be of interest to local users considering trying their food. To find out if Lucky 7 is currently running any promotions, it is recommended to:

  • Call the restaurant directly at (503) 206-8536 or +1 503-206-8536.
  • Inquire about any special deals or discounts when placing a takeout order.

Given the concerns about pricing and ingredient balance, any potential promotions could influence a customer's decision to try Lucky 7.

In Conclusion:

Lucky 7 in Portland is a Chinese restaurant that operates exclusively as a takeout establishment. Recent customer reviews indicate potential issues with the value and composition of their dishes, specifically the sweet and sour shrimp and the chicken and mushroom. Customers have expressed disappointment with the amount of main protein relative to the price and the inclusion of a large proportion of less expensive vegetables. While the restaurant may have had a better reputation in the past, recent feedback suggests a decline in quality. Local users considering ordering from Lucky 7 should be aware of these concerns and might want to inquire about the specific contents and pricing of dishes before placing an order. As a takeout-only service, the focus is solely on the food provided for off-site consumption. Information on any current promotions can be obtained by contacting the restaurant directly.

Got take out as they don't have a dine in option. Ordered the sweet and sour shrimp. What I got was 8 pieces of deep fried, battered shrimp and the sauce. For $17. Steamed Rice was an additional $4. I wish I would've taken pictures. My expectation was to have lightly battered, or grilled shrimp and vegetables, and some pineapple in the dish for that price point. I stopped at the store and got some frozen stir fry veggies to add to this to make it a worthwhile meal. That dish could be improved. I won't be going back, my cooking is better.

Lucky 7 used to be banging, we went today after a few months absence and it was like no where near as good, Got chicken and mushroom and it was like 4 pieces of chicken and the rest was green pepper and celery. Man just not happy paying 30 bucks for dinner to get a buncha peppers and celery.

Pick up was very quick and simple. Fried Rice portion was amazing. Crab puffs tastes delicious. A little pricey but definitely worth the money! Best spot I have found since moving to Oregon.

This place is a hidden gem. It's unassuming, presenting like just a little Lotto deli. Once you get a look at the food though, it stands out tremendously. I've been eating there since they opened, and I have yet to order a "miss" from their menu. Among my favorites are their truly orange flavored orange chicken (you can never untaste the superiority to the national chain version), chicken subgum chowmein, and, a dish with no equal, Hong Kong style crispy noodles. And, let me tell you about the Hong Kong style crispy noodles. I will always remember my life in two acts: everything before Hong Kong crispy noodles, and everything after my first bite of it. The sauce is deep and rich with umame that suggests they use something akin to oyster sauce, along with some chicken broth as the base. The crispy noodles on the bottom are a crunchy divine on the edges, yet soft and chewy in the center, having soaked up the delicious sauce. It has broccoli, carrots, onions and zucchini in it, which are done nicely, but still firm and crunchy. It has chicken, beef, shrimp, and their barbecue pork for the meats. This thing is a single dish with a radical range of experiences, throughout. If you want a soda, it will come from a can. If you want a beer, it's just Budweiser and Bud Lite. But that isn't why you go there. The food needs nothing from the beverage department to offer a complete experience. Just get ice water and hot tea. The family that runs this restaurant are some of the kindest and gentlest humans I have ever met. They are good people making great food...just the kind of people that Gresham, and our country, needs.
