About Loy Loy Dim Sum

Loy Loy Dim Sum is a Chinese restaurant located in the Post HTX food hall at 401 Franklin St, Houston, TX 77201. They can be reached at (713) 999-2550 or +1 713-999-2550.

As a Chinese Restaurant category establishment, Loy Loy Dim Sum offers a variety of dim sum and other Chinese dishes. However, based on customer reviews, the restaurant has received mixed feedback.

Some customers have described the food as "generic food court quality" and not entirely authentic. Reviews mention that the Singapore noodles lacked sufficient curry flavor and the potstickers were "rubbery." The BBQ Bao steam buns were criticized for having a disproportionately large amount of bun and very little filling. Additionally, the sticky rice was described as "stale and slimy."

The shrimp balls were noted as a positive aspect of the meal. However, the quantity of sauce provided was considered inadequate, with customers receiving only a few bottlecaps of sauce for a significant order.

Regarding service, one customer noted that a staff member interrupted an existing order to address their inquiry, which may be interpreted in various ways. Overall, there is not enough information to fully assess the service.

Customers have suggested that there are potentially better dining options within Post HTX, such as Chop'n Blok, for the same price point.

In summary, Loy Loy Dim Sum offers a range of Chinese dishes, but customer reviews indicate potential issues with food quality and portioning. It is recommended that potential customers consider these reviews before making a dining decision.

Generic food court quality food. Not quite authentic Chinese, but nice attempt. I had the Singapore noodles, which needed a little more curry powder flavor. Potstickers were rubbery.

I’ve had Bao all over the world, but these Bao buns were incredibly disappointing. The BBQ Bao steam buns were mostly bun with very little filling—about 95% bun and only 5% filling. The sticky rice was stale and slimy, unlike anything I’ve had before. The shrimp balls were the only redeeming part of my meal—they were actually good. However, the portion of sauce provided was ridiculous. I spent over $50 on my order and received just four BOTTLECAPS of sauce, which was honestly laughable. As for customer service, I didn’t stay long enough to fully assess it, but I did notice the staff member at the front ignored a paying customer with which they were in midst of an order with, to speak to me about my order. Take that for what it’s worth. Long story short, there’s much better options at Post HTX for the price point such as Chop’n Blok across the hall.

Great food! First time here and was just wandering until I saw the pork buns listed. Fantastic! Really good, reminds me of going out to eat with my cousins. I would definitely come back here to try everything else.

Log Loy provided good quality Chinese whilst maintaining decent customer service. Food came out relatively quickly and is fresh. I recommend the shrimp balls heavily as they were my favorite thing from my order today!

Loy Loy is located within The Post Market, off Franklin Street. Anytime I see a Dim Sum place, I have to try it. Also my buddy has never had it. So started him off on some simple dishes to peel his interest. BBQ Pork Buns and Shrimp Balls were an easy choice for a first timer. The shrimp balls were loaded with flavor, also added a photo show how well stuffed they are. You won’t be disappointed giving this place a try. The parking is quite vast. However, if you visit within the prime time hours or weekends. You’ll have a hard time parking and moving about. I’ve been in the past where it’s shoulder to shoulder in the market. However today at 4pm it was practically empty! So plan accordingly. We will be back for more!
