Local Smoke BBQ - Neptune City

I never imagined finding a place as good as this. I'm from Texas and I came to this area for work. I stopped by Smoke Local. I doubted it would be any good, but they surprised me with such good flavor and excellent service. So if you're in the area, stop by and enjoy the great flavor of Smoke BB!

So... Let me tell you ‼️‼️ although it is a bit pricey but this place was fantastlicious. Staff is friendly and amazing.. 😍😍 the menu was a bit confusing when I order, I honestly got the wrong thing I washed a pulled pork sandwich and when I saw that it wasn't the right thing they just accommodated my n we needs.. for free.. but the best part .. the food... Muah 💋😘 magnific 👌🏼👌🏼I swear to god if I worked at this place I would be like 300lbs and that is why, my friend, you need to eat there. They have their own little restaurant made sauces and rubs that are amazing.. right on the side of the table. You know I love that extra sauce 🤤😋🤤... And didn't we all. You need to do to this place. Fugggin BBQ amazing. Also got the collard greens beat sh1t I ate in my whole collard greens mf life... So sorry I ate the food before I took the photo that's how amazing it was. Then I was like omg I need to take a picture haha lmfao

What happened to this place? Came here from the start and loved it. I just got the two meat platter and has to be the most bland thing I have ever tased, I had to take a sip of my cherry coke to make sure I didn’t have Covid and could taste stuff. Gave it my last shot but have to say I am officially done. Bland and dry

I've loved this place since I started eating there in 2018. Sweet Chili wings.... favorite. Definitely recommend getting their catfish when available. I don't even like fish. Their greens taste like someone's Nana made em all day 🥹..... with love. I don't think I ever ate a bad thing here. And I believe they've had one of the same cooks there for a while.... which definitely means something today.

Place has great food depending on what you get. The pulled pork and beans are amazing, the collard greens are the best I’ve ever had but be mindful if you don’t like spice because I grew up in a Cajun restaurant and my mouth still can shoot flames some days. The brisket, Mac, and coleslaw is mid, but I go to Texas every other month so my standards are high. As for why I’m here: I know these are changing times we are in, but 12 dollars for a 1/3 pound of pork butt on bread without any sides is kindaaaa insane. There also needs to be some changes made where if I’m spending 12 dollars on a pulled pork sandwich I shouldn’t also be paying an extra 6 dollars for collards and 5 dollars for Mac and cheese. At least give half off one side or something. My whole bill for lunch costed 28 dollars for a sandwich, collards, Mac, and a root beer. I almost didn’t swipe my card out of principle. It’s a great spot for lunch if you make 150k a year, but you better hope there’s no one else there if you’re planing on dining in. Prices are definitely reaching, even for today’s standards. Three stars because the food is indeed good.
