About Liyin Rice Roll Brookline 荔银肠粉
Liyin Rice Roll Brookline 荔银肠粉 is a Chinese Restaurant in Brookline specializing in unique and flavorful rice rolls. Unlike traditional individual rice rolls, their signature rice rolls are served in a style resembling an omelette and are described as silky and loaded with toppings, making them quite addictive according to customer reviews.
A popular order is Combo B, which includes their signature 3 treasure rice roll, signature porridge, and hot soy milk. The soy milk is noted for being not too sweet and very comforting. The rice roll, while yummy, was mentioned by one reviewer as being a little greasy and absorbing a lot of soy sauce, which might be a consideration for those mindful of sodium intake. However, the overall taste was well-received.
The porridge at Liyin Rice Roll is highly praised, described as light, savory, and containing a good amount of meat. For the price, the combo is considered a great deal, making it a worthwhile option for a satisfying meal.
The restaurant is recommended for small groups of 3 or 4 people or less. Customers have also highlighted the friendly service provided by the waitstaff, enhancing the overall dining experience.

so delicious !! i got combo B with their signature 3 treasure rice roll, their signature porridge, and their hot soy milk. the soy milk was not too sweet and very comforting, and came out first. next was the rice roll, which was yummy although a little greasy and soaked up a lot of soy sauce, so I would advise against it for people trying to avoid sodium. their rice rolls are not the traditional individual rice rolls, but come out almost like an omelette. it was tasty! the porridge in my opinion was the best — it was light, savory, and had a good amount of meat in it. for the price, it was a great deal! would definitely go again.
The rice rolls here are soooo good! Loaded with toppings, silky, and addicting! Good for small groups of 3/4 people or less, and our waitress was very friendly. Can't wait to come back for more!
The food is just so so. The rice rolls were a little too thick. Should be thinner. Soy sauce needed a little bit more flavor. A little bit more filling. The Sampan congee (signature) is not the typical older style with pig skin, squid, and minced meat. But flavor wise is not bad. The stir fried beef ho fun needed a little bit more flavor, but stir fried very well. Service could be better. Overall, worth a try or two, needs some work.
Not crowded at night and incredibly tasty! Plus, you can watch the chef prepare their rice rolls in the back, which was a delight to see. It’s fascinating to watch how they craft each roll with such care.
We had watched the Netflix food show that touted Liyin in Canton (Guangzhou) and were looking forward to trying the restaurant. We ordered the shrimp and roast pork rice rolls, the beef stir fried noodle, scallion pancakes and cold soy milk. We were disappointed with the food in general. The beef noodle was not bad, and the rice roll noodle texture was fine, but nothing special. All one can really taste is the soy sauce in the rice rolls. The shrimp rice roll had some scallions in it which was nice and added a bit of flavor. The scallion pancake didn't have much scallion taste at all. The soy milk had an unpleasant gooey mouthfeel, unlike the soy milk in HK. Wanted to try the congee but noticed the portions are very small for over $10/bowl. We hope their food gets better over time since it is a unique addition to the neighborhood.
