Customer Reviews
A dumpling and noodle shop with some traditional Chinese dishes. Service was very good, prices good and food was average. We had some jellyfish, steamed baos, scallion pancakes( bit dry), fried rice, rice cake with vegetable, tofu. We had some sesame balls for dessert and ( tapioca and black glutinous rice free).
Finally, I have tried out Liu's. Just finished having dinner with my family. Everything was phenomenal, the soup dumplings are to die for. The peanut wontons are amazingly sweet and spicy. The crab hot and sour soup was probably the best hot and sour I've ever had. The noodles with a bit of everything were equally as good. The service was great, you can tell it's family run and they really are committed to their restaurant. Prices are great. I am not sure how anyone could possibly have anything bad to say about this place. We will be back again. Thanks!!
DECEPTIVE & DISHONEST BUSINESS practice by LUI SHANGHAI (my experience) I included an honest review of my food order below. If you choose to order food at this restaurant then I hope you do not have the same experience. The food was poorly flavored. The Soup dumplings were overly sweet and lacked the flavors normally associated with quality Asian soup dumplings. I also ordered chicken and Broccoli and pork fried rice. Here was my experience: There was Certain low quality food preparation. The pork fried lacked visible culinary effort and was greasy. A quality cook would use high flame in the Wok (an obvious thing) to obtain a nice quick smoky char to the fried rice. This pork fried rice was undercooked and greasy. The chicken: They included a very small amount of finely chopped chicken meat with nearly half the portion being finely sliced chicken slimy SKIN. I was in disbelief and thought the sliced chicken skin was a random piece of fat, but I soon noticed a LARGE AMOUNT of uniformly sliced chicken skin added to the dish along with a small amount of actual chicken meat. This seemed to me as a deceptive choice made by the business to cut their costs. I would not recommend this business, and my phone experience with the business owner was negative, as she was terribly rude to me. I give this place a two thumbs down.
According to the Shanghainese American in our group, this place was as authentic and great as it gets! We ordered all three of their xiao long baos. I was impressed with their scallop XLB, really yummy! The jellyfish (cold app) and egg rolls were delicious too! The egg rolls were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside; skip the duck sauce you won't need it. Loved that they gave us a kettle of hot tea, and refilled it immediately when we ran out. Definitely going back again!
Nothing is better than finding a restaurant that everyone in the family loves. Service is fantastic. Amazingly nice people working there. Our must order for our family of 4: Original soup dumpling Scallion pancake Beef rice cakes General Tso's Chicken Hong kong style hot and sour soup Shanghai fried rice Must try their spicy fried wonton. We Only order this when I forget to eat breakfast that morning.
