I used to come here about 10-12 years ago. Not quite as good as I remember but pretty decent over all. The only down side to our visit was the AC was on full blast so we were cold and our food got cold. The sweet and sour chicken was great.
I stopped by to grab some Chinese food and I saw this place. It looked kind of sketchy and had a couple of homeless people in the parking lot but no big deal. I ordered at the counter from a really nice young lady and sat down. She brought my food to the table so all is good. I ordered pork fried rice and hot and sour soup. I was ready some of the reviews while I was waiting and saw that the older ones had an owner from China, that isn’t the case anymore everyone there is Hispanic so here goes my review of the food. I eat Chinese food more than any other ethnic cuisine so I’ve got some idea of what is food and what isn’t. The hot and sour soup was not awful although it had pieces of chicken in it that is a first for me. It was a bit runny and had too much of a vinegar flavor. The rice had absolutely no flavor at all and there were small pieces of pork among the few vegetables and wilted bean sprouts. There was both on any of the tables to add to the rice, soy, hot sauce, chili sauce. The only thing I saw was an empty bottle of low sodium soy sauce in a lower compartment by the front desk. The place looked clean enough but when I left I had bites on my legs from something that I didn’t have when I arrived. I won’t return to have flavorless rice the bites were extra.
It’s perfectly decent kind of mainstream American-Chinese. My only objection is not only the many glowing other reviews here saying it’s possibly “the best Chinese in SLC”, which could be true if you want a certain kind of Chinese food catering to a certain palette, but the restaurant displays multiple placards on its wall from review organizations saying it’s the best Chinese food in Salt Lake City, or even one of the 50 best Chinese restaurants in America, which is simply impossible. It would be a perfectly acceptable place if not so oversold.
This place is dirty and disgusting. Their floors are sticky. They have meat on top of chicken uncooked. I’ve even seen a cook wipe his knife on the trashcan and continue cutting meat. I’m surprised no one has gotten salmonella or anything else there do not eat there.🤢🤮
The service was fast. The food was tasty. The owner is super cool. It was a convenient spot to go to as there was no wait. We were able to sit down right away. The location is sketchy but it’s all good. Go and enjoy the food. I will be back. You should check it out.
