About Little Hunan

Welcome to Little Hunan Chinese Restaurant, located at 1882 Curtner Ave in San Jose, California (95124, USA). As a local Chinese restaurant, Little Hunan offers a variety of dishes for those seeking a taste of Hunan cuisine and other Chinese specialties. While specific details about the restaurant's ambiance and comprehensive services are limited based on the available reviews, we can glean insights into the food quality and some aspects of the dining experience from customer feedback.

Based on the provided reviews, the culinary experience at Little Hunan appears to be somewhat varied, with certain dishes receiving high praise while others have been met with disappointment. One customer specifically highlighted the "Hunan Beef" as being "very good" with a "tasty sauce and good quality meat." This positive feedback suggests that Little Hunan excels in preparing at least some of its signature Hunan dishes, which are typically known for their bold and often spicy flavors.

In contrast, the same reviewer expressed significant dissatisfaction with the "Lemon Chicken," describing it as "terrible, super thin, overdone, and served with a strange orange sauce rather than lemon." This critique points to potential inconsistencies in the preparation or recipe of certain dishes. Another customer echoed a similar sentiment regarding specific menu items, stating that while the "honey walnut shrimp and beef with mushrooms was good," the "rice and the potstickers could have been better." This suggests that while some dishes are well-received, there might be room for improvement in others.

The pot stickers at Little Hunan received mixed reviews, with one customer calling them "decent" while another felt they "could have been better." Similarly, the pork fried rice was described as "quite good" but noted to have "almost no pork," indicating a potential issue with the proportion of ingredients in certain dishes. This inconsistency in feedback highlights the importance for potential customers to consider that experiences may vary depending on the specific dishes ordered.

In terms of service, one reviewer mentioned that "the food came out quickly," which is a positive aspect for those looking for a prompt meal service. However, this was the only direct comment regarding the service itself in the provided reviews. Information regarding the attentiveness of the staff, the overall dining experience, or any specific services offered (such as takeout or delivery) is not available in the current feedback.

Regarding the environment of Little Hunan, the reviews do not offer any specific descriptions of the restaurant's decor, cleanliness, or overall atmosphere. Therefore, it is difficult to provide an objective assessment of the dining environment based solely on the given information. Potential customers may want to consider this lack of information and perhaps look for additional reviews or even visit the location to form their own opinion.

The Hunan Beef was very good with a tasty sauce and good quality meat. The Lemon Chicken was terrible, super thin, overdone, and served with a strange orange sauce rather than lemon. The pot stickers were decent and the pork fried rice quite good, but had almost no pork.

I gave this place a shot and was sorely disappointed. Chunks of food are mid at best. Sesame chicken was hard. Fried rice was barely fried. And then I originally got no utencils.

This is my go to for basic Chinese takeout. The prices and portions are good, and I like that I can order online. I don’t have any photos because I eat it too fast but trust me the moo shu chicken is great!

1st the positives the people were really friendly and nice. Now the restaurant is trying to be somewhat of a fast food, with a 15 min window from ordering on the app, it actually took about 22 min, I was early and checked the time. I ordered sweet and sour pork, it was the best of what I ordered, not overly sweet. Next the egg rolls, the inside of the rolls were more like a mush, like everything went through a food processor prior to filling not good. The egg drop soup was not bad, I would say it would be good for a senior community it had very little flavor. Now the worst of the worst. The chow mein, mostly noodles and more oil than what's in my car, it actually had a decent flavor just fighting though the oil was unbelievable. My total bill including a tip, afterall this was my first and last visit, came to $55. For that kind of money, they need to rethink what they're offering people. I get better food from Panda Express. A disappointment for sure.
