Welcome to Little Hong Kong, a Chinese restaurant located at 10443 San Pablo Ave in El Cerrito, California. As a local establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, Little Hong Kong aims to provide a diverse menu of Chinese cuisine to the residents of El Cerrito and surrounding areas. While specific details regarding the restaurant's ambiance and comprehensive services are not extensively available online, the provided customer reviews offer valuable insights into the dining experience, food quality, and service aspects of Little Hong Kong.

These contact numbers can be used by local patrons to inquire about operating hours, make reservations (if applicable), ask about the menu, and confirm the availability of services such as dine-in, takeout, or delivery. While the online information does not explicitly describe the restaurant's environment or décor, potential customers may wish to call ahead to get a sense of the dining atmosphere if planning to eat on-site.
Based on the available customer reviews, Little Hong Kong offers both dine-in and takeout services. One long-time customer mentioned visiting the restaurant consistently since 2016 and bringing family members, indicating a positive experience with the food and service over an extended period. This suggests that Little Hong Kong has cultivated a loyal customer base within the local community. Another reviewer specifically mentioned enjoying their meal while dining inside the restaurant on a recent visit in January 2025, further confirming the availability of dine-in service. For those preferring to enjoy their Chinese food at home, takeout is also clearly an option, as implied by the positive feedback on specific dishes that are likely ordered for consumption off-premises.
Several features of Little Hong Kong can be gleaned from the customer feedback. The food quality is consistently highlighted as "amazing" and "so good" by multiple reviewers. Specific menu recommendations include the chicken fried rice and veggie egg rolls, both praised for their taste and satisfying portion sizes. One reviewer noted that these dishes "will fill you up and hit the spot," suggesting a good value in terms of quantity and quality. Additionally, the Oolong tea served at Little Hong Kong was also mentioned as a positive aspect of the dining experience, indicating attention to beverage offerings as well.
The consistent patronage of one reviewer over many years, bringing family and specifically choosing Little Hong Kong for Chinese food, speaks volumes about the perceived authenticity and quality of the cuisine. This suggests that Little Hong Kong has established itself as a go-to place for Chinese food in the El Cerrito area for some local residents. The positive experiences shared highlight the flavorful dishes and the overall satisfaction derived from the meals.
However, one recent review from January 2025 brought to light a service issue that potential customers should be aware of. The reviewer recounted a situation where, after paying their bill (including an $8 cash tip) and leaving the restaurant, a waiter followed them outside to inquire if a tip had been left. The reviewer perceived this as "unprofessional" and stated it would be their last visit. This incident suggests a potential lapse in service etiquette that could be a concern for some diners. While this appears to be an isolated incident reported in the provided reviews, it is an important piece of feedback to consider alongside the positive comments about food quality and general service.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for Little Hong Kong in the provided reviews. Local users interested in any special offers, discounts, or new menu items are encouraged to contact the restaurant directly using the provided phone numbers. Restaurants often have promotions that are communicated directly to customers or through in-house advertising, so a direct inquiry is the best way to obtain such information.
In conclusion, Little Hong Kong appears to be a Chinese restaurant in El Cerrito that is generally well-regarded for its food, particularly the chicken fried rice and veggie egg rolls. The positive experiences of long-term customers suggest a consistent quality in their offerings. The mention of Oolong tea also indicates a thoughtful approach to the overall dining experience. However, a recent report of unprofessional service regarding tipping suggests a potential area for improvement. Local users looking for a Chinese restaurant with tasty food and generous portions in El Cerrito may find Little Hong Kong appealing, but it might be prudent to be mindful of the recent service feedback. For the most up-to-date information on the menu, services, and any promotions, contacting Little Hong Kong directly at (510) 524-0888 or +1 510-524-0888 is recommended.

The food is amazing. I recommend the chicken fried rice and veggie egg rolls. Good portions will fill you up and hit the spot. Next time I'm in the bay area, I'll be back. I also loved the Oolong tea

This venue was recommended to us, so we decided to give it a try. My husband loved the peeking duck, and stated this is his new favorite Chinese restaurant! We also had the BBQ pork appetizer, chow mein, Mongolian beef, and sweet and sour chicken without veggies. The beef had more onions than meat but had great flavor, and the sweet and sour was just ok. Everyone enjoyed the BBQ pork.
My family has been coming here for literal decades, even when they were located in their previous location further down on San Pablo Ave. My grandparents loved going there when they were still alive and got to know the owner and staff well. Nearly all of the adults' birthdays were spent there. Family doesn't eat out nearly as often these days, but still visits from time to time. We decided to get a large take-out order from here for Christmas dinner this year. I called early in the afternoon for a 5pm pick-up to give them time especially because we were ordering a whole Peking duck. We arrived at 5pm to pick-up the order, but it wasn't ready yet, but they were unsurprisingly VERY busy with a ton of take-out orders and a good handful of parties dining in as well. The staff was doing their best to juggle both take-out orders and those dining in, but the system is old-fashioned with pen and paper. They would probably operate faster and with a little less chaos with some kind of computerized system, but they seem determined to stay with the traditional system. We were patient and waited to be asked which order we were waiting for and for our food to be ready. (Other people waiting were patient as well, but I can imagine there could be people who would get impatient and unforgiving.) Finally the order was ready and we took everything home. Everything we ordered was correct and looked great for take-out. The Peking duck looked amazing (even though I couldn't eat it), and the rest of my family said it was delicious and perfectly cooked. My dad was savoring it and feeling nostalgic as he ate. I got an order of salt & pepper tofu, which, despite being fried, was surprisingly very light and fluffy. I inhaled a lot of that tofu. We also got an order of garlic pea vines, which are delightfully delicious. Easily one of my favorite vegetables that I don't often eat. Boyfriend got their garlic chicken and really enjoyed it. (My dad tried some of it, too, and also really enjoyed it.) We were extremely satisfied with our entire meal and happy to have some traditional Cantonese food for Christmas dinner!
This Chinese restaurant looks and feels like a truly authentic spot you’d see in tv shows and movies. The waitress was good as gold. She was happy to serve us and constantly had a smile on her face. Each item we ordered was absolutely delicious.
