About Little Gingko Asian Cafe

Little Gingko Asian Cafe is a Chinese restaurant located at 1279 N Marion St, Denver, CO 80218, USA. You can contact them at (303) 993-2327 or +1 303-993-2327.

Based on recent customer reviews, Little Gingko Asian Cafe is described as a cute little restaurant with great customer service and a clean appearance. They are also noted for being fast with their service and, on at least one occasion, staying open later than expected on a holiday.

However, one customer who visited on Christmas Eve reported a very negative experience with their pepper chicken and Mongolian beef, finding both dishes to be inedible due to a burnt taste (in the pepper chicken) and excessive salt and sodium content in both. They also found the wonton soup to be overly salty, suggesting a heavy use of soy sauce. This reviewer mentioned that the spiciness level was hotter than requested and cautioned those sensitive to sodium or seeking healthy options.

On a more positive note, another customer highly recommended the Crispy Honey Chicken, especially the gluten-free version. They were informed about shared fryers for deep-fried items, which may be a consideration for those with severe gluten sensitivities. This reviewer also mentioned that the restaurant offers many other non-deep-fried gluten-free choices and found it to be a great treat due to the limited availability of gluten-free Chinese food in their hometown.

One review mentioned nice portion sizes, although noting a common tendency for restaurants to skimp on rice. Free spring rolls were provided with two dinner orders, and there was a mention of free rangoons for orders over $40. Parking is noted as potentially difficult due to it being street parking on a busy road.

In summary, Little Gingko Asian Cafe seems to offer friendly service and some well-received gluten-free options like the Crispy Honey Chicken. However, there are also concerns raised about the salt content and overall quality of certain dishes based on recent feedback.

I came here for the first time on Christmas Eve. 4.7 on reviews. Cute little restaurant. My daughter had been here a few years ago and said it was okay but she had gotten Ramen. Customer service is great. Restaurant appears. Clean. They were fast. I thought they would be closing early but were staying open until 9pm Christmas Eve which is unusual. Nice portion sizes except they always skimp on rice. Most restaurants do. I asked for pepper chicken which doesn’t come spicy. I asked that they add a little heat. They said they could make it medium. Also ordered Mongolian beef medium spicy. The food was horrible. Not even edible. The black pepper chicken had a burnt taste to it. Couldn’t taste the flavor of the chicken. Appeared tender. But both dishes were super salty, high in sodium off the charts. Like the meat is cooked and doused in tons of high sodium soy sauce, saturated. Then add the spicy medium. The spicy was more like “hot” not medium. The two combinations together was like a heart attack waiting to happen. Maybe my experience would have been different without the spicy medium and no salt. I also got a small wonton soup. Dark broth which I think is soy sauce. Also salty and high in sodium. I don’t know how anyone can eat this food with that high content of sodium. They must be young and it doesn’t effect them but it’s super unhealthy and can raise blood pressure through the roof. You can see in photo all the red pepper flakes. And the dark sauce which is pure soy sauce/sodium. Ruined our Christmas Eve dinner. One and done. I will say the spring rolls were good and came free with two dinners. If you spend $40, you get rangoons free I believe. Parking can be difficult as it’s just street parking on a busy road. If you are sensitive to sodium or want to stay healthy, not the Chinese restaurant for you.

The Crispy Honey Chicken was so so good! I got the gluten free version and was told that they do use shared fryers, which is is not a problem for me but something to be aware of. They do have many other not deep fried options that are gluten free! I am from out of town and there is no Chinese food that is GF near me so this was such a great treat!

The Water Fish entree at Little Gingko is unlike anything I've had before, and is an absolute favorite of mine. It's like a spicy, super-flavorful soup, particularly when ordered without rice, which is how I prefer it. This is not a small entree, and I typically enjoy it over a couple of days. It's also my go-to dish when feeling under-the-whether, which is why I went today despite no longer living nearby. P.S. It was much prettier when it first arrived at my table. I hungrily ate a dozen bites before remembering to take a picture.

This place is delicious! I’ve tried a lot of items on their menu and all their food is very tasty. I always find my way back to their chicken lettuce though. Aka, lettuce wraps. Their portions are HUGE! Makes the pricing reasonable unlike other places. The staff is very friendly and always paying attention to see if you need something. I highly recommend them.

I am obsessed with this cafe. It holds a warm place in my heart. I love getting the food takeout to picnic it at nearby Cheesman Park, but I am always torn because I love the atmosphere in this tiny cafe. Food is soooooooo good. Try the sesame chicken or literally anything - I can’t imagine you will be let down!!
