About Little Garden

Welcome to Little Garden, a cherished establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, located at 14725 NE 20th St, Bellevue, WA 98007, USA. This restaurant has garnered a reputation among locals as a "best kept secret," celebrated for its exceptionally delicious food offered at prices reminiscent of a decade ago. Little Garden presents itself as a "no fuss restaurant" that focuses on providing a wide array of Chinese dishes from various regions, appealing to a broad spectrum of tastes and preferences. While some customers have commented on the service style, the overall consensus points to the remarkable value and quality of the food.

The environment of Little Garden is described as "no fuss," suggesting a casual and unpretentious setting where the primary focus is on the food rather than elaborate decor. One reviewer noted that customers should not "expect too much from the decor," indicating a more traditional and perhaps simple ambiance, typical of some long-standing Chinese restaurants. The emphasis here is clearly on the culinary offerings and the value provided to the customers.

The service at Little Garden has been a point of discussion among reviewers. One customer mentioned that they "totally get what people complain about the service," but also emphasized the importance of managing expectations. According to this reviewer, the service is straightforward and communicative. If there is a wait, the servers will inform you, for example, mentioning that an order might take an hour due to a high volume of to-go orders. This suggests a transparent approach to managing customer expectations regarding wait times. The same reviewer also found the place to be "super friendly," indicating that while the service might not be overly formal or effusive, it is nonetheless welcoming and accommodating. Another reviewer echoed the sentiment of "service without a smile, typical of Chinese restaurants," suggesting a more traditional, efficient, and less overtly expressive service style.

A significant feature of Little Garden is the "wide variety of Chinese dishes from various regions" that it offers. This suggests a menu that goes beyond standard Cantonese fare, potentially including specialties from Sichuan, Hunan, Northern China, or other culinary regions of China. This diversity allows diners to explore a broader range of flavors and dishes, making Little Garden a potentially exciting destination for those seeking authentic and varied Chinese cuisine.

The food at Little Garden is consistently praised for its quality and value. One reviewer described it as "amazing food at a price that we used to pay 10 years ago," highlighting the exceptional affordability. Another customer stated that the "dishes are plentiful and a great deal considering the price," reinforcing the notion of generous portions at very reasonable costs. This combination of quality and affordability is a major draw for many local patrons.

Several specific dishes have been mentioned as "go to" items by one reviewer. These include the "mini fried dumplings," which are likely a popular appetizer known for their crispy texture and savory filling. The "pea vine shoots" suggest a fresh and healthy vegetable dish, often appreciated for their delicate flavor and crispness. The "beef chow fun," a classic Cantonese noodle dish with stir-fried beef and wide rice noodles, is another favored item. Lastly, the "braised pork shoulder" indicates a rich and flavorful, slow-cooked meat dish that is often a comforting and satisfying choice.

A unique offering at Little Garden that has garnered significant attention is their "frozen dumplings." One reviewer exclaimed, "Can you believe it is only 10$ for 2 lbs????" This highlights an incredible value for a substantial quantity of frozen dumplings, allowing customers to take home a supply of their delicious dumplings to enjoy at their convenience. This option not only provides an affordable meal solution but also suggests the high quality and popularity of their dumpling recipe.

The overall sentiment from the reviews indicates that Little Garden prioritizes providing excellent food at very reasonable prices, even if the service style might not align with everyone's expectations. The focus is clearly on the quality and value of the dishes, which has cultivated a loyal following among local residents. The willingness of customers to tip generously, as mentioned by one reviewer ("I love this place and always tip very generously as their dishes are very reasonably priced"), further underscores the perceived value and enjoyment of the food.

Given the strong emphasis on affordability and the lack of mention of specific promotions, it is likely that Little Garden's primary appeal lies in its everyday low prices and generous portions. The frozen dumplings at such a competitive price could be considered an ongoing promotion of sorts, offering exceptional value to customers who want to enjoy their food at home. Local users looking for delicious Chinese food without breaking the bank should definitely consider Little Garden.

In conclusion, Little Garden in Bellevue offers a fantastic option for local users seeking a wide variety of delicious Chinese dishes at incredibly affordable prices. While the decor is simple and the service might be perceived as straightforward and efficient rather than overly warm, the quality and value of the food are consistently praised. Popular dishes like the mini fried dumplings, pea vine shoots, beef chow fun, and braised pork shoulder are highly recommended. The standout offering of 2 lbs of frozen dumplings for just $10 provides an unbeatable value for enjoying their food at home. If you prioritize great food at great prices and don't mind a no-fuss environment and potentially direct service, Little Garden is a hidden gem worth discovering in Bellevue. I wanted to give one star so people won’t come to my favorite place. This is one of the best kept secrets. Amazing food at a price that we used to pay 10 years ago. I totally get what people complain about the service but it is all about the expectation. If you ask the server what the wait is they will tell you. Your order will take an hour because we have tons of to go orders for example. If you are in a rush, go to other places. I find this place to be super friendly. Oh don’t forget to buy the frozen dumplings. Can you believe it is only 10$ for 2 lbs???? I love this place and always tip very generously as their dishes are very reasonably priced.

No fuss restaurant offering a wide variety of Chinese dishes from various regions. The dishes are plentiful and a great deal considering the price. Our go to dishes include the mini fried dumplings, pea vine shoots, and beef chow fun, and braised pork shoulder. Don’t expect too much from the decor and service without a smile, typical of Chinese restaurants.

Large portion of braised chicken with potatoes, only $20 after tax! The taste is good, like authentic Northern Chinese home cooked comforting food. During meal times, the wait can be quite long. I recommend ordering 1-2 hours in advance by phone and pickup. Better avoid dining in, it takes at least 30 minutes to get the food

The service and the food was great. It was the first time we visited Little Garden. We arrived at 5pm when they opened, on a Monday. We had a party of 8 and were the first party there. I liked that they had two large round tables for larger parties. The food did take awhile to start coming out as other reviews mentioned, about 40 minutes. I also read that others didn't receive good service and the servers'attitudes were bad. We didn't experience that. They were very nice and helpful and filled our water glasses frequently. You can't beat the value of the food. We had eight dishes and the total was only $123. We will definitely be coming back

Mediocre food. Food was served pretty fast but not much seasoning. Tastes very plain…. The waitress definitely has an attitude like other review mentioned. Not very authentic Hunan Cuisine.
