About Ling’s Restaurant

Ling’s Restaurant, located at 8945 S Fry Rd, Katy, TX 77494, USA, is a Chinese restaurant that offers meal delivery services to the local community. You can contact Ling’s Restaurant at (281) 347-1001 or their mobile number +1 281-347-1001 to place an order for delivery.

Based on customer reviews, Ling’s Restaurant is known for its reasonably priced lunch menu. For approximately $8, customers can get a main dish, rice, a choice of soup, and an egg roll. A notable feature mentioned by a reviewer is the inclusion of a hearty amount of vegetables, such as zucchini in the Kung Pao dish, which they found to be a positive aspect compared to other similar restaurants.

However, another customer who ordered through Grubhub for lunch had a mixed experience. While the ribs were reported to have a great flavor, they were also described as being a bit too tough. The Won Ton soup was considered unusual, as it contained vegetables, which is not typical. The broth was described as bland and lacking the characteristic flavor of Won Ton soup. Furthermore, the wontons themselves were noted to be mostly noodles with a very small amount of pork filling. The delivery time for this order was approximately 45 minutes.

Information regarding the restaurant's dine-in environment is not available in the provided reviews, as the focus is on meal delivery. The features highlighted are the affordable lunch menu with generous portions and the inclusion of vegetables in some dishes. The promotional aspect mentioned is the value offered by the lunch special. Local users considering Ling’s Restaurant for Chinese meal delivery can benefit from the affordable lunch options and the inclusion of vegetables, but should also be aware of the mixed feedback regarding specific dishes like the Won Ton soup and the texture of the ribs.

I typically order from their lunch menu. It is very reasonably priced for the amount of food that you get. For about $8 get the main dish, rice, choice of soup, and an egg roll. What I like most about Ling’s is that they actually include vegetables in their dishes, like a hearty amount of zucchini in the kung pao. I don’t know why so many other similar restaurants don’t include any sort of green vegetables.

I really wanted Won Ton Soup and some Ribs for lunch. I started scouring the Grubhub and doordash app for places. I also googled and looked on yelp to see reviews and such. I ordered through Grubhub and my food came in about 45 mins. I started on my ribs first. They had a great flavor but were a little bit too tough for me. The Won Ton soup looked really weird. I have never seen it come with Veggies but hey Veggies are good. When I tasted the juice, it was very bland and did not have the flavor of Won Ton soup at all. The wontons were mostly just the noodles. There were only 4 actual wontons and they were not filled at all, just a vey small amount of Pork in them. I was already dealing with the weirdness of the soup, but for it to be mostly noodles was a huge let down.

We keep trying this place because it is close and not consistently awful, but I think I've had my last meal from there. I placed an order twenty minutes online before I showed up (while masked up to keep my flu germs to myself), and when I got there, it looked like they had not noticed my online order. (It wasn't like it was super busy and running behind - it was pretty much empty the entire time I was there.) Rather than explaining the situation, they told me it was "almost ready" about five times over the twenty minutes I waited in their empty restaurant. I would have canceled the order if they had been up front with me because my main purpose for ordering there was to get my food quickly because I was sick, but they kept it to themselves. After listening to them argue in the kitchen, finally my food came out. I'm not sure if it was the soup or the flu that upset my stomach, so I'll just focus on the service issue here.

The one star rating is for the service only. Prices on the menu are INCORRECT, expect to pay +$1, $2 more than listed, TAKE OUT ONLY, NO DINE IN. Food was flavorful and well seasoned. I would give the food 3/5 stars. Ordered the sweet & sour combo, beef & Broccoli, Szechuan fish stew and special wonton soup. My husband and I, along with our two children found a table and sat, looking forward to dine in and enjoy good food. We were the only customers. The employee at the register greeted us from behind the counter. The employee didn't offer us menus and didn't tell us where they were located. My husband looked around and found them along the left wall. We ordered four plates at the register, paid and sat back down. We were a little confused at the total, it seemed like we were possibly overcharged. My husband approached the employee at the register and wanted to confirm the price of the plates we ordered. The employee said the prices on the menu are incorrect. It would have been nice to be informed of the current price or have the menus replaced. So be aware that some dishes might be $1, $2 + more. My husband sat back down, we waited a few more minutes and the same employee comes out with our food in a to go bag. We were incredibly confused. There is no mention that this restaurant is take out only. The employee was incredibly aloof and not helpful. Ling's restaurant isn't recommended for dine in, unless it's delivery or takeout, but I won't be doing that. I don't want to give them any business.
