About Ling Ling

Ling Ling is a Chinese restaurant situated at 222 Elmira Rd Unit 9, Ithaca, NY 14850, USA. They can be contacted at (607) 272-0718 or +1 607-272-0718. As a Chinese restaurant, Ling Ling offers a variety of dishes within this cuisine, primarily catering to takeout customers.

Customer reviews for Ling Ling present contrasting experiences. One long-time customer highly recommends their Garlic Tofu, stating it has been a family favorite and that Ling Ling prepares Chinese tofu exceptionally well, unlike other places in Ithaca. They also enjoy the Hot and Sour Soup (noting it contains meat). While they haven't tried the entire menu, they find the dishes they regularly order to be delicious and well-prepared. This reviewer considers Ling Ling a perfect spot for takeout with friendly and low-key staff, suggesting it offers good, straightforward Chinese food.

However, another recent review described their experience as "gross" and indicated they would not return. This customer reported that the General Tso’s chicken lacked spice and sauce, the rice and broccoli were cold and dry, and the crab rangoons were unpleasantly fishy. They also found the beef Lo Mein greasy, cold, and flavorless. The only positive comment was about the egg rolls being decent, leading them to conclude it was a complete waste of money.

Therefore, potential customers should be aware of these differing recent experiences when considering Ling Ling. While some appreciate their specific dishes like the Garlic Tofu and find it a reliable takeout option, others have reported significant issues with the quality of other menu items.

My family and I have been enjoying the Garlic Tofu here for as long as I can remember, and it’s always been a favorite. I highly recommend it, as I don’t know any other place in Ithaca that prepares Chinese tofu as well. I also enjoy their Hot and Sour Soup (note that it's not vegetarian). While I haven’t explored the full menu, the dishes I regularly order are always delicious and well-prepared. I’m not sure why some people expect a gourmet experience here—what you see is what you get. It’s the perfect spot for take-out, and the staff is friendly and low-key.

Honestly this was gross. I don’t know if we got a bad order or what, but I would never return. General Tso’s chicken had zero spice and had barely any sauce, rice and broccoli were both cold and dry. Crab Rangoons were fishy to the point that even though sushi is my favorite food, they were inedible. The beef Lo Mein was greasy, cold, and flavorless. The absolute only positive thing I have to say is the egg rolls were decent. Complete waste of $40.

I stopped in here for dinner. I ordered the orange chicken with white rice. The staff was very attentive and polite. The food was very good and super fresh. I am very satisfied with the food and service at this establishment.

The "boneless" anything was fully boned and not very good, it was packed and the service seemed frightened of us. Other than that it was great!

I eat here regulary. Generally very pleased and i will continue to be a customer. Very nice people, kind. My only complaint is that food is inconsistent. Maybe depends on cook and style of cooking. Sometimes tender sometimes seems to be microwaved?? Chicken gets tougher when microwaved and really changed enjoyment of food. Prices reasonable IF food consistently pleasant to eat in mouth and flavorful.
