About Lili's Restaurant
Lili's Restaurant, situated at 197 N Pleasant St in the heart of Amherst Center, Massachusetts (zip code 01002), offers a delightful and authentic Chinese dining experience within the local Chinese Restaurant category. As a smaller establishment, Lili's provides a more intimate setting while focusing on the quality and freshness of its dishes, particularly its renowned handmade noodles.
One of the standout features of Lili's Restaurant, consistently highlighted by patrons, is their commitment to made-to-order handmade noodles. The Biang Bang Noodles come highly recommended, with reviewers praising the texture and the generous portion of meat served with them. The fact that the noodles are freshly prepared for each order underscores a dedication to quality and a unique culinary offering that sets Lili's apart from other Chinese restaurants in the area. For those seeking an authentic noodle experience, Lili's is a must-try.
While the Biang Bang Noodles have garnered significant praise, it's important to note other experiences shared by customers. One reviewer mentioned trying the Hot & Sour Vermicelli Soup but found it lacking in meat, sourness, and spiciness, ultimately not recommending it. This highlights the importance of exploring different dishes on the menu to find personal favorites and suggests that while some dishes excel, others may not meet all expectations. It's also worth noting that the vermicelli noodles in this particular soup were made from potatoes, indicating some gluten-free options might be available, although the handmade noodles are not gluten-free.
The environment of Lili's Restaurant is described as "small," with approximately eight tables inside. This intimate setting likely contributes to a cozy and perhaps bustling atmosphere, especially during peak hours. While the size might be limited, the quick service reported by customers suggests that turnover is efficient, and wait times are generally manageable. The central location in Amherst Center makes it easily accessible for locals and visitors alike.
Service at Lili's Restaurant is consistently praised for its friendliness and efficiency. The staff are described as "very friendly" and capable of preparing dishes "quickly." Furthermore, they are commended for their willingness to "help cater to any needs or changes required," indicating a flexible and accommodating approach to customer service, particularly regarding dietary restrictions or preferences such as allergies. This attentiveness to customer needs is a significant advantage for diners with specific requirements.
The Biang Biang Noodles with pork were specifically mentioned as a standout dish. The reviewer noted the "big portion for the price" and the overall tastiness of the meal. The spice level was reported as not being "too overwhelming," suggesting a balanced flavor profile that should appeal to a wide range of palates. The texture of the handmade noodles was also appreciated, described as having a "good thickness" and not being "too hard." The stewed pork was highlighted as complementing the noodles exceptionally well, creating a satisfying and flavorful combination.
Lili's Restaurant operates both as a dine-in establishment and offers takeout services, providing flexibility for customers who prefer to eat at the restaurant or enjoy their meal at home or elsewhere. This dual service model caters to various preferences and lifestyles within the Amherst community.
Based on the information available, Lili's Restaurant's key features include its authentic handmade noodles, particularly the Biang Bang Noodles, its friendly and efficient service, and its willingness to accommodate allergies and dietary needs. The smaller, intimate setting and central location in Amherst Center add to its appeal for those seeking a local Chinese dining experience.

Highly recommend the Biang Bang Noodles, or another dish with the handmade noodles. The noodles are made to order, and there is a good amount of meat on them. I had the Hot & Sour Vermicelli Soup, but it had minimal meat, was not sour and was not spicy (don't recommend). Small resturant with 8~ tables inside, but quick service and accepting of Allergies. All handmade noodles are NOT glutenfree, Vermicelli were made from potatoes.
Lili's is a smaller Chinese restaurant located in the heart of Amherst Center, serving a variety of Chinese dishes in store or as take out. The staff are very friendly, able to make the dishes quickly, and help cater to any needs or changes required. We tried the Biang Biang Noodles with pork, and it was a big portion for the price, and was very tasty. The spice wasn't too overwhelming, and the noodles were a good thickness that weren't too hard. The stewed pork went really well with it. Overall, a solid food choice while in the area.
The food is amazing and the staff go out of their way to help you. I come more than once a week. This time I ordered the sandwich 肉夹馍 and a soup 羊肉泡馍 for two people, and they brought the sandwich cut and extra bowls for sharing and I didn’t even ask.
My daughter and niece highly recommend this place. Unfortunately, Monday was their resting day. We finally get to get this place on Tuesday. It’s definitely worth the wait. The restaurant is very small with just a few tables for dine-ins. The entire menu is a giant poster on the wall with a picture for each menu item. This makes ordering a breeze. The setup of this restaurant is very simple and it’s right behind the counter for customers to see. A small counter for making the noodle, two large pots to cook the noodles and cooking the dishes. A showcase to store all the garnishment and a small space to prep dishes before serving. After receiving a beef noodle soup order. Someone brings out a few prepared doughs, roll it a few times to flatten it to the proper thickness, cuts it, handle pull it and then puts it in a pot of boiling water to cook. Simultaneously, another person brings out a container of beef noodle soup stock to heat up. The noodle and the beef soup gets mixed in the bowl with garnishment and it’s ready to be served. The man in charge at the counter is the owner. An immigrant from ShannXi (陕西) long time ago. Friendly fella.
Biang Baing noodles are insanely good! Never had a dish quite like this, super flavorful, amazing texture of the hand pulled Noodles, and they have a vegetarian version! Place is fairly small but service was fast and super friendly, definitely worth a stop!!
