Light Cantine is a hidden treasure! We have been a few times now, and it’s been great for both dine in and take out. The staff are so friendly (especially Stephanie and Vivian) and the decor is always adorable! It’s a very cute place. The food is always fresh and really good, and the tea is really good as well. This has quickly become our favorite restaurant in Michigan. Having lived in Texas with near a heavy Chinese population, the food here is as good and could easily compete with the restaurants there. We drive 25 miles to go there, and we look forward to our visits. The malatang (spicy hot pot) is really good—it has a flavorful broth and nice options. The spicy crispy fried chicken is really amazing and craveable, and the sauce for the cucumbers is really tasty. They also have dim sum and other options you do not find at other locations. They have really affordable options or fancier ones. Definitely recommend trying this place out for dinner, tea, or the extensive dessert menu! They recently updated their menu dinner menu, so I’m attaching photos.

I saw vid on IG and it was cute so I tried it out. The food overall was good but the some menu portions could have been better for the price? We got the fried squid and it was $20 for about 10 pieces which was disappointing. But other dishes were generous and it was all delicious. The staff was very kind and the place was clean which was important for some in my party.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at light cantine .From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the restaurant's elegant and inviting ambiance. The décor is a beautiful blend of traditional Chinese elements and modern design, creating a warm and sophisticated atmosphere. The seating arrangement is spacious, while still feeling part of the lively environment. Now, let's talk about the food. The menu offers a wide variety of authentic Chinese dishes, each more delicious than the last. I started with the dim sum , which was a delightful assortment of steamed and fried dumplings. For the main course, I chose the spicy hot pot custom - It has wide variety of different vegetables seafood and meat to choose. I was greatly disappointed with spicy hot pot which serves broth(soup) cooked with beef and chicken (together). As im not beef eater i chose veg (no other option) . It tasted like a tomato soup 😒not worth to try .If don’t eat beef or vegetarian i would high recommend to try different dish other than hot pot dish. The service is exceptional. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, always ready to offer recommendations and ensure a pleasant dining experience. They were quick to refill drinks and clear plates, all with a genuine smile. In conclusion, its a fantastic choice for anyone looking to enjoy high-quality Chinese cuisine in a stunning setting.

This place is a hidden gem. Looks like a regular boba tea place from the outside, but to our surprise it’s way bigger than expected. And it’s an actual restaurant that offers authentic Chinese food, along with drinks, shaved ice and other desserts. We ordered peach smoothie芝芝桃桃, spicy Sichuan style chicken 辣子鸡 and stir fried cauliflower有机菜花, all tasted very good. One thing to note is that for dishes they have a Cantonese menu and a Sichuan menu, prepared by two different chefs. And you need to ask them for the Sichuan menu on the tablet since they haven’t officially launched it yet. The service was exceptional too! We felt welcomed throughout the dining experience. Would definitely be back for other dishes on their menu.

One of the best restaurants in the area! The Chinese style (spicy) fried chicken is one of the best I’ve ever had. I’m not even sure anywhere else serves it like this. But everything is fresh, hot, and authentic. I was too busy eating to snap better pics. But I can’t recommend this place enough. They also have great bubble tea and drinks, so it’s a great one stop shop.
