About Li Yangs Chinese Restaurant

Welcome to Li Yangs Chinese Restaurant, a local establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, located at 450 W Murdock Ave, Oshkosh, WI 54901, USA. Li Yangs aims to provide a variety of Chinese dishes to the Oshkosh community, with a focus on preparing food fresh to order. While specific details about the restaurant's ambiance and comprehensive service offerings are not extensively detailed, the available customer reviews offer contrasting perspectives on the quality and consistency of their food and service.

One customer expressed high satisfaction, stating that the food from Li Yangs is "ALWAYS hot and freshly made to order." They further emphasized that they have "never had a complaint about this restaurant" and that their orders are consistently accurate. This positive feedback suggests that Li Yangs has the capability to deliver high-quality, freshly prepared meals and accurate order fulfillment, leading to a commendable dining experience for some customers. The reviewer's encouragement to "Keep up the awesome work Li Yang's" indicates a strong level of satisfaction and loyalty.

In contrast, another customer who placed a significant order totaling over $60 reported a considerably negative experience. While their order arrived in a timely manner, they encountered several issues with the food quality. Specifically, they found the house fried rice to be burnt, noting both a burnt smell and taste, and distinguishing this from the desired "seasoned wok" flavor. This is a significant concern, especially for a signature dish like house fried rice. The reviewer also described the overall taste of the food as "mediocre," suggesting a lack of distinctiveness or high quality. They likened the taste to buffet food, implying a level of quality below their expectations for a non-buffet restaurant.

Further detailing their negative experience, the same reviewer found the general tso's chicken to be typical of other places, "kinda overly saucy" to the point of making the chicken soggy. This suggests a lack of unique preparation or a potential imbalance in sauce-to-chicken ratio. Additionally, they reported that the house special lo mein was missing beef, which is typically a standard ingredient in house special lo mein at many other Chinese restaurants that usually include a combination of beef, chicken, pork, and shrimp. The reviewer also mentioned that the chicken curry was not appealing to them based on its appearance and had heard it was disappointing from others. Despite these significant criticisms, the reviewer did acknowledge that the portion sizes were good.

The stark contrast between these two reviews suggests a potential inconsistency in food quality and preparation at Li Yangs Chinese Restaurant. While one customer consistently receives hot, freshly made, and accurate orders, another experienced burnt food, mediocre taste, and missing ingredients in their dishes. This variability could be a crucial factor for local users to consider when deciding whether to patronize this establishment.

The limited information available does not provide details about the restaurant's environment or ambiance. As a local Chinese restaurant, it likely offers a casual dining space for customers who wish to eat on-site, in addition to its takeout and potential delivery services (implied by the order being delivered in the negative review). The mention of specific menu items like "House Special Lo Mein," "House Special Fried Rice," "Curry Chicken," and "General Tso's Chicken" with their prices ($10.69, $10.39, $14.09, and $15.49 respectively, with the curry chicken and general tso's chicken including chicken fried rice) gives some insight into their menu offerings and pricing. These are common and popular dishes in American Chinese cuisine.

The reviews do not mention any specific features that might distinguish Li Yangs from other Chinese restaurants in the area, such as unique dishes, special preparation methods, or a particular dining atmosphere. The focus of the feedback is primarily on the quality and consistency of the food and the accuracy of orders.

Similarly, there is no information provided about any promotional offers, discounts, or loyalty programs that Li Yangs Chinese Restaurant might be currently offering. Local users interested in such information would need to contact the restaurant directly at (920) 233-9999 or +1 920-233-9999. They could also inquire about their full menu, hours of operation, and delivery radius if that service is available.

In conclusion, Li Yangs Chinese Restaurant in Oshkosh, WI, has received both high praise for its hot, freshly made, and accurate food, as well as significant criticism regarding burnt food, mediocre taste, and inaccuracies in orders. This mixed feedback suggests that while some customers have had consistently positive experiences, others have encountered significant quality issues. Local users considering Li Yangs should be aware of these contrasting reviews and may want to consider ordering popular items that have received positive mentions, or perhaps inquire about their food preparation processes. Given the reported inconsistencies, it might be prudent to manage expectations when ordering from this establishment.

65.House Special Lo Mein $10.69 35.House Special Fried Rice $10.39 K7.Curry Chicken + w. Chicken Fried Rice $14.09 A1.General Tso's Chicken + w. Chicken Fried Rice $15.49k So here’s my order. Order arrived on timely manner. However, my house fried rice was burnt you can smell that it was burnt it taste burnt. There’s difference between is seasoned wok and burnt food. Idk why a restaurant would make you burnt fried rice. Especially when you spent 60+ dollars. Everything tasted mediocre. If I wanted buffet food I’d go to the buffet. The general tso chicken taste like any other place, kinda overly saucy that your chicken gets soggy. House special lo mein had no beef in it. Usually when I order house special from other places theirs beef chicken pork and shrimp. Chicken curry wasn’t for me so I didn’t try that also heard it was disappointing. Portion was good size I will give them that. But to receive burnt fried rice. I will not order from here again.

Don't order Chinese all that much but when I do, Li Yangs is my go to. Like the beef with broccoli, made spicy, and love the steamed dumplings. Portions are good and reasonable prices.

My husband picked up an order of shrimp and mixed vegetables on the way home from work tonight (2/15/25). While eating he found a large piece of metal in his food. Will never go back.
