About Li Chinese Restaurant

Welcome to Li Chinese Restaurant, a local establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, situated at 2659 N Illinois St in Swansea, Illinois. Li Chinese Restaurant aims to provide a variety of Chinese-American dishes to the local community, offering both takeout and delivery services. While specific details about the restaurant's ambiance are not provided in the available reviews, it functions as a local eatery catering to those seeking convenient options for enjoying Chinese cuisine. It is important to consider recent customer feedback regarding both the food and service provided by Li Chinese Restaurant.

Information regarding the specific environment of Li Chinese Restaurant is not detailed in the provided reviews. Typically, Chinese restaurants offering takeout and delivery services often feature a functional space primarily designed for order preparation and customer pickup. There might be a counter area for placing orders and waiting, with the primary focus being on the efficient handling of takeout and delivery orders. The reviews do not offer insights into the presence or atmosphere of a dine-in area. To gain a better understanding of the restaurant's environment, contacting them directly or visiting the location might be necessary.

Li Chinese Restaurant offers both takeout and delivery services, catering to customers who prefer to enjoy their meals off-premises. You can place orders by calling (618) 235-2988 or +1 618-235-2988. The reviews highlight some inconsistencies and issues related to customer service. One customer, a regular who ordered Pork Egg Foo Young weekly, reported receiving a burnt dish. Their attempt to resolve the issue with the "manager" resulted in a dismissive attitude, a minimal $2 discount offer (while charging $6 for delivery), and being hung up on. This negative interaction led to the loss of a loyal customer. Another customer who placed a $45 order and requested extra sweet and sour sauce (even offering to pay) was charged extra and then argued with by an older staff member for requesting more sauce, despite the large order size. The only positive mention regarding service was about a "young girl" who was described as polite. These reviews suggest potential inconsistencies and issues with the customer service provided by some members of the staff.

As a Chinese restaurant, Li Chinese Restaurant likely offers a menu featuring a variety of popular Chinese-American dishes. Based on the negative review, Pork Egg Foo Young is one of the dishes offered. The customer's experience of receiving a burnt order, which was dismissed by the "manager," raises concerns about the quality control for this particular dish. The menu likely includes other common items such as fried rice, noodle dishes, and various chicken, beef, and seafood entrees prepared with different sauces and vegetables. The discrepancy in pricing mentioned by one reviewer, who was charged $10.50 for a dinner combo listed at $9.95 on the menu, suggests potential issues with accurate billing. To obtain a complete understanding of their menu and pricing, contacting the restaurant directly would be advisable.

The available customer reviews for Li Chinese Restaurant raise significant concerns regarding both food quality and customer service. One customer's experience with severely burnt Pork Egg Foo Young and the subsequent dismissive and unhelpful response from the "manager" paints a negative picture of their service and willingness to address customer complaints. The fact that this was a regular order for the customer, who had never experienced it burnt before, further underscores the issue. The minimal compensation offered and the abrupt end to the call indicate a lack of concern for customer satisfaction. The second review highlights issues with additional charges for condiments and an argumentative response from a staff member when a reasonable request was made for more sauce with a large order. The contrast between the negative interactions with some staff members and the positive mention of a polite "young girl" suggests inconsistency in customer service. These reviews collectively indicate potential problems with food preparation quality, pricing accuracy, and the professionalism of some staff members, which could impact the overall customer experience.

Given the negative feedback regarding food quality and customer service, any potential promotional information is not mentioned and would likely be overshadowed by these concerns. Restaurants typically use promotions to attract customers and highlight positive aspects of their offerings. However, in the case of Li Chinese Restaurant, the recent reviews focus on negative experiences that would likely deter potential customers, regardless of any promotions. Addressing the issues raised in the reviews regarding food preparation and customer service would be a more critical step for Li Chinese Restaurant to regain and retain customers.

In conclusion, Li Chinese Restaurant in Swansea, IL, operates within the Chinese Restaurant category, offering takeout and delivery services. However, recent customer reviews highlight significant concerns regarding food quality, specifically a case of severely burnt Pork Egg Foo Young, and unprofessional customer service, including dismissive behavior from the "manager" and argumentative interactions with other staff. There is also a mention of potential price discrepancies. While the restaurant likely offers a standard menu of Chinese-American dishes, the negative feedback regarding food preparation and customer service should be carefully considered by potential customers. It is recommended to exercise caution and perhaps seek more recent feedback or clarification from the restaurant regarding these issues before placing an order.

Worst Pork Egg Foo Young! Burnt completely on side. Called "manger" says that is how they are made & can offer me $2 off, then hangs up on me. Now keep in mind I have this same order at least once a week & has NEVER been burnt. Then to offer someone $2 when you charge $6 to deliver. The looking at menu dinner combo is $9.95 I'm being charged $10.50. Loyal customer gone in 1 bad customer service joke!!!

I bought $45 worth of food sked for extra sweet and sour even offering to pay. An older lady told me a dollar and something. Then proceeded to give me 4 packs. When I asked could I get more since I paid and my order was a bunch of fried rice... she started arguing with me to let me know she felt like I was asking for too much. Only polite person is the young girl

Best Chinese food around. Rice is dark and delicious. Pepper Chicken is amazing and their crab ragoons are great.

1st time coming here. The inside is small they have one side of 4 tables and the other side looked as if they use the space for themselves. The lady ran up from the back ant took our order. She was very patient and helpful with any questions I had with was nice. We ordered the house special fried rice, chicken fried rice, and egg rolls. It was pretty tasty. I will come back and order something different instead of playing it safe, but hey if you can't cook fried rice what's the point of trying anything else.
