About Leeann Chin

Leeann Chin, a prominent name in fast-casual Asian cuisine, has a location at 2100 Snelling Ave N, Roseville, MN 55113, serving the local community with its range of Chinese and Asian-inspired dishes. Operating as a counter-serve chain, Leeann Chin aims to provide quick and convenient meals, a concept that has seen widespread adoption across the Midwest. For inquiries or to place an order, customers can reach the Roseville location at (651) 631-9112 or via mobile at +1 651-631-9112. The restaurant strives to cater to a diverse clientele, offering various options for dine-in, takeout, and delivery services, with online ordering available through several platforms.

Regarding the environment, Leeann Chin, as a chain, generally emphasizes efficiency and a functional, clean space. While specific detailed reviews of the Roseville location's interior environment are limited to the provided information, typical Leeann Chin establishments are designed for quick service, with a focus on streamlining the ordering and pickup process. The counter-serve model means the ambiance is usually casual and functional rather than a traditional sit-down dining experience. The emphasis is on providing a clean and organized space for customers to quickly receive their meals, whether for consumption on-site or to take away.

The service at Leeann Chin, particularly for a counter-serve operation, aims to be efficient. While the provided reviews do not extensively detail positive aspects of customer service at this specific Roseville location, the nature of a fast-casual chain implies a focus on quick order processing and turnaround. However, customer interactions related to delivery and order fulfillment have sometimes faced criticism. For instance, one customer noted that a delivery order for cookies was not fully assembled, requiring the customer to be instructed to pick them up themselves, indicating a potential disconnect in the delivery process or attention to detail for off-premise orders. This highlights that while the service model prioritizes speed, consistency in order accuracy for delivery and takeout can sometimes be a point of concern for patrons.

Leeann Chin's menu is comprehensive, featuring a wide array of classic Chinese and Asian-inspired dishes designed for quick preparation. Signature items often include a variety of chicken entrees such as Bourbon Chicken, Peking Chicken, Orange Chicken, Sweet & Sour Chicken, and Sesame Chicken, each prepared with distinct sauces. Beef dishes like Beef & Broccoli, and shrimp options such as Firecracker Shrimp, are also typically available. For appetizers, common offerings include Egg Rolls, Potstickers, Cream Cheese Puffs, and Oyster Wings. Side dishes usually consist of white rice, brown rice, vegetable fried rice, and Asian noodles. The chain also offers customizable Noodle Bowls and combinations, allowing customers to select their preferred proteins and sides.

However, an objective review necessitates addressing varied customer experiences, particularly those related to the quality and consistency of the food. Several reviews for the Roseville location indicate significant dissatisfaction. One customer described their takeout meal as "terrible," with half of it discarded. Specific complaints included:

  • Potstickers were "tiny and shriveled," and their accompanying sauce was excessively salty, described as "straight salt."
  • Egg rolls were "mushy" and also "so damn salty," leading to them being inedible for the reviewer, who suspected they were frozen and merely heated up.
  • The white rice was criticized for being "bad," "undercooked" in appearance but dry, lacking the typical texture of quality white or sticky rice from other Chinese establishments.
  • The Bourbon Chicken was found to be "dry as hell," "really fatty and grizzly," with little flavor beyond "charred grill," resulting in half of it being uneaten.
  • The Peking Chicken, while "cooked better," was "doused in the sauce that was thick, almost like a jam" and "SUPER sweet," suggesting an overwhelming and unbalanced flavor profile.
Another reviewer corroborated some of these concerns, noting that the Sweet & Sour Chicken was served with the sauce on the side, lacking integration, and had minimal accompanying vegetables (only one carrot slice and two pineapple pieces). The Beef & Broccoli was critiqued for being predominantly broccoli with very little beef. The cheese wontons were described as "all dough and soggy." While the green beans received a positive mention for their flavor, the overall recommendation was to avoid the establishment, suggesting that preparing a similar meal at home would be cheaper and more satisfying. These detailed accounts highlight inconsistencies in cooking, ingredient quality, and flavor balance that have negatively impacted some customers' experiences.

Promotional information for Leeann Chin generally includes various deals on combo plates, party packs, and individual entrees. They often leverage online ordering platforms and may offer discounts through loyalty programs or first-time user promotions, as hinted by the customer who used an Instacart promo. The aim of these promotions is to attract new customers and encourage repeat business, emphasizing value and convenience for families and individuals. The menu is designed to offer quick meal solutions, making it an appealing option for those seeking fast service.

In conclusion, Leeann Chin in Roseville operates as a convenient counter-serve Chinese restaurant offering a range of classic and contemporary Asian dishes for dine-in, takeout, and delivery. While the establishment aims for efficiency and offers a broad menu that includes popular items like Bourbon Chicken, Peking Chicken, and various appetizers, customer experiences concerning food quality have been notably mixed. Reports of excessively salty appetizers, dry or improperly cooked chicken, and imbalanced flavors suggest a lack of consistency in food preparation. While the convenience of a fast-casual model and widespread availability of online ordering can be attractive, potential customers should be aware of the varied feedback regarding food quality. As with any chain, individual locations can vary, and for the Roseville Leeann Chin, it appears that while the premise of quick Chinese food is present, the execution has sometimes fallen short of customer expectations, as evidenced by a segment of its reviews.

We ate food from here for the first time. Ordered takeout since I had a promo from Instacart. I have to say, it was the WORST meal I’ve had in a while. It was terrible, half of it went in the trash. We ordered the bourbon chicken and the Peking chicken, along with egg rolls and a few potstickers. The potstickers sucked, the were tiny and shriveled but more so the sauce was STRAIGHT SALT. Good lord, like a salt concentrate. Salty dumplings too. Move on to the egg rolls. They’re were mushy and HAVE to be frozen egg rolls heated up. They were also so damn salty again, I couldn’t even eat a whole one. The appetizer sauce aka duck sauce was disgusting. Thankfully I have my own I like. Onto the entrees: don’t ask me how you can make white rice bad but they did it. Idk if it’s just low quality rice or what. It looked undercooked but wasn’t crunchy. Nothing like sticky rice or white rice you get at a Chinese place. It was also so dry. The bourbon chicken didnt have much flavor but charred grill, and was dry as hell and really fatty and grizzly. Half of the chicken wasn’t eaten. The Peking chicken was cooked better but was doused in the sauce that was thick, almost like a jam. Was also SUPER sweet. Honestly nothing was good. Overall we ate the bare minimum to stave our hunger and tossed the rest. What a terrible meal. Nothing was good at all. Never will I eat at a Leeann Chins again. I feel gross just for eating it. It wasn’t even worth it with the promo discount. Wouldn’t eat this food if it was given away for free. Just terrible.

The sweet and sour chicken was not even cooked in the sauce it was served in a cup on side. Only had 1 carrot slice and 2 pineapple pieces. The beef and broccoli was all broccoli very little beef. Cheese wontons where all dough and soggy. The green beans had good flavor. I would not recommend this place. You could cook chicken yourself and drizzle sweet and sour sauce on it yourself at home for much cheaper.

The guy serving us was acting very rude about giving me & my son a few packs of soy sauce!he insisted we only need one per order! The rice is good but definitely requires more than one soy sauce! His energy was very dry & not welcoming!

I am a critic: I am here at Leeann chin on Snelling Ave in Saint Paul or Falcon heights. Today I ordered a Combo meal with white rice, bourbon chicken, kung pao chicken. The bourbon is so good but kung pao was very dry. The staff lady was nice not too friendly but not mean either. A lot of the food looked dry and that it had sat out for a while. For 2 combos and 1 fountain drink cost us $22.95
