About Lee's

Lee's is a Chinese restaurant situated at 360 Dorset St in South Burlington, VT 05403. For local residents and visitors seeking Chinese cuisine in the South Burlington area, Lee's can be contacted at (802) 657-3218 or +1 802-657-3218. While the restaurant offers both takeout and dine-in options, recent customer feedback presents a mixed picture regarding the overall experience.

One customer shared an overwhelmingly negative experience during their visit to Lee's. This reviewer described the restaurant's atmosphere and dishes as "absolutely disgusting" and "clearly dirty." They reported receiving raw chicken that was not cooked thoroughly, along with cold rice. Furthermore, their egg roll was described as burnt and empty. This customer also expressed concern about the hygiene practices observed, stating that the sole employee present, who was managing both the register and cooking, was touching her face without wearing gloves while preparing food. This experience was so off-putting that the customer considered leaving and ultimately described their $17 meal, of which they only had two bites, as "horrible." This review raises significant concerns about food safety, cleanliness, and service standards at Lee's.

In contrast, another customer offered a more moderate review, stating that their experience was "not bad at all." This reviewer had specific feedback on several dishes. They found the chicken fingers to be "very doughy" in relation to the amount of chicken they contained. However, they praised the Beef Teriyaki, pork fried rice, and crab Rangoon as "all great." They also specifically mentioned that the duck sauce was "really good." This review suggests that while some dishes may have quality issues, others are well-received. It indicates a potential inconsistency in the food preparation at Lee's.

Considering the conflicting nature of these two recent reviews, it is challenging to provide a definitive assessment of the environment and services at Lee's. The negative review paints a picture of a dirty atmosphere and potentially unsanitary food handling practices due to a lack of hygiene from the single employee observed. The positive review does not comment on the environment but focuses primarily on the quality of specific food items and highlights the takeout aspect without mentioning dine-in experiences.

The feature of Lee's appears to be its offering of a standard Chinese menu with both takeout and dine-in options available. However, the significant discrepancy in customer experiences suggests that the quality and consistency of both the food and the service may be unreliable. The fact that one employee was observed handling multiple roles, including cooking and managing the register, could potentially contribute to issues with food preparation time, order accuracy, and hygiene standards.

Currently, there is no promotional information available for Lee's based on the provided reviews. Given the starkly contrasting experiences reported by customers, any potential promotions would need to be weighed against the reported issues with food quality, cleanliness, and service. For local users considering Lee's, it would be advisable to take these recent reviews into account and potentially seek more up-to-date feedback from other sources to get a broader perspective on the current state of the restaurant.

In conclusion, Lee's Chinese Restaurant in South Burlington, VT, presents a mixed bag of customer experiences. While one reviewer found several dishes to be satisfactory, another reported significant issues with food quality, cleanliness, and hygiene practices. The stark contrast in these opinions suggests a potential inconsistency in the restaurant's operations. Local users considering Lee's for their Chinese food needs should be aware of these recent experiences and may want to gather more information before making a decision. The availability of both takeout and dine-in options is a standard feature, but the overall quality of the experience appears to be a point of concern based on the provided feedback.

Never again… my one and only time going, there was absolutely disgusting. The dishes and the atmosphere is very gross and clearly dirty. My chicken was still raw and not cooked all the way and the rice is cold. My egg roll was burnt and had nothing in it. There was one lady there doing the register and cooking, and she was the only one there. She kept touching her face and was not wearing gloves while cooking my food. I almost walked out! $17 and I had 2 bites. Horrible!

Not bad at all! Chicken fingers were very doughy compared to the chicken in them. But the Beef Teriyaki, pork fried rice and crab Rangoon were all great. Their duck sauce is really good too!

This was a visit of desperation as the good place, men at wok, was closed as it was a Monday. I ordered three things, house lo mein, shrimp fried rice and sweet and sour chicken. When I say it tasted like it was made by someone who thinks mayonnaise is spicy and that salt and pepper is seasoning I mean it. Just look at the “fried” rice (attached pictures) I paid for. It was a disappointing experience to say the least. Market 32 ready to eat Chinese food would have been a better choice.

They lost our order for Christmas dinner after waiting 2 hours and offer literally nothing to make up for this massive screw up completely on their part. Absolutely horrible behavior from a business and very sad that this is how they choose to operate and serve their community. Will not be returning.

My son and I are in the process of visiting every Chinese restaurant in Chittenden County, VT. We always order the same thing. I order a chicken and broccoli combo with pork fried rice and an egg roll. My son orders a sesame chicken combo with pork fried rice and beef teriyaki sticks. Price: $22.00 or $.32/oz is slightly above the average price we would find in Chittenden County. Portion: 4.4 lbs between the two meals is on the higher side of the average range. Pros: - High traffic convenient location just off Dorset St. in South Burlington. - Good flavored pork fried rice. - They provided 2 soy sauce packets, 1 mini duck sauce container, and 2 mini fortune cookies. - The newer microwavable containers are being used Cons: - Liquid sauce was spilled all over the bottom of the plastic bag inside the brown paper takeout bag... a big mess. Others have posted similar feedback - The chicken in the chicken and broccoli combo meal was mushy and had a weird texture - Smaller than average egg rolls which could have been more crispy - They didn't provide napkins or utensils - The duck sauce container and fortune cookies were undersized Impression: Convenient location off Dorset St in South Burlington offering a portion size on the higher side of average at a slightly higher price, earning Lee's a 3.0 star review.
