About Lee's Kitchen
Welcome to Lee's Kitchen, a Chinese restaurant located at 2409 152nd Ave NE in Redmond, Washington. Lee's Kitchen initially presented itself as a cozy and warm spot, particularly suitable for those seeking a quieter dining experience. Based on initial customer feedback, the restaurant offered some delightful dishes, with tender rice rolls and flavorful pork being notable standouts. Additionally, the provision of complimentary soup and roasted peanuts was appreciated as a thoughtful touch. However, more recent reviews indicate a concerning trend of inconsistency in food quality and portion sizes, which potential customers should be aware of.
The environment of Lee's Kitchen is described as "cozy" and "warm," suggesting a smaller, more intimate setting that might appeal to those looking for a less bustling atmosphere. One reviewer who visited after the lunch rush noted that they were the only table, contributing to a "peaceful experience." This implies that Lee's Kitchen might be a good option for those seeking a quiet meal, especially during off-peak hours. The initial impression was of a comfortable and inviting space that supports a relaxed dining experience. However, no further details about the décor or layout are provided in the reviews.
The services at Lee's Kitchen have received mixed feedback. Initially, the restaurant offered a welcoming gesture with free soup and roasted peanuts. However, a significant challenge reported by multiple reviewers is communication with the staff due to a language barrier. One reviewer mentioned that "the server didn’t speak English," leading to reliance on hand gestures for ordering. Another review advised that "their staff don't speak english so you will only order via the webapp." This reliance on a web application for ordering, which was described as "a bit janky," could pose a barrier for some customers, particularly those less comfortable with technology or who prefer direct interaction with service staff. While the intention might be to streamline ordering, the execution and the lack of English-speaking staff appear to be a notable service characteristic.
The food at Lee's Kitchen presents a somewhat contradictory picture based on the evolving customer reviews. The original feedback highlighted "tender rice rolls" and "flavorful pork" as delightful surprises. The popcorn chicken was also noted as well-seasoned, although it lacked crunch. These initial impressions suggested a promising culinary offering. However, a more recent "updated" review paints a starkly different picture after multiple visits. This reviewer reported a decline in quality with each subsequent experience, culminating in a final visit where they encountered "raw noodles, tiny portions, and pork that was mostly fat with barely any meat." Even the steamed rice, previously perhaps satisfactory, was described as "just average." This significant inconsistency in food quality and execution is a major concern raised by a returning customer. Another reviewer echoed the positive sentiment about the rice rolls, stating they "alone make them worthy of a recommendation," but also noted that the "food could use a bit more flavour" in general.
Currently, there is no information available in the provided customer reviews regarding any specific promotional offers or specials at Lee's Kitchen. The focus of the reviews is primarily on the food quality, service (or lack thereof in terms of language), and the overall dining experience. Given the recent negative feedback concerning food quality and portion sizes, any potential promotional offers would need to be weighed against these reported inconsistencies. To inquire about any current specials or discounts, it would be best to contact Lee's Kitchen directly using the provided phone numbers: (425) 629-3980 or +1 425-629-3980. However, potential customers should be mindful of the recent reviews indicating a decline in food standards.
In conclusion, Lee's Kitchen in Redmond initially presented itself as a cozy spot with some commendable dishes, particularly the rice rolls, and offered a thoughtful touch with free soup and peanuts. However, a significant drawback is the reported language barrier with the staff, necessitating the use of a potentially unreliable web application for ordering. More concerning is the recent feedback from a returning customer detailing a significant decline in food quality, including raw ingredients, small portions, and poor meat quality. While the rice rolls continue to receive praise, the overall inconsistency in food quality and quantity raises serious concerns about the reliability of the dining experience at Lee's Kitchen. Potential customers should consider both the initial positive feedback regarding the ambiance and certain dishes, as well as the more recent and critical reviews highlighting significant issues with food standards. Without any information on current promotions, it is difficult to assess the overall value proposition in light of these inconsistencies. Proceed with caution and perhaps consider recent reviews more heavily when making a decision to dine at Lee's Kitchen.

*Updated* After four visits to Lee’s Kitchen, we really tried to give this small spot a fair chance — but unfortunately, each experience has gotten worse. Our first visit was promising with tasty food and good execution. However, the latest visit was the final straw: raw noodles, tiny portions, and pork that was mostly fat with barely any meat. Even the steamed rice dish was just average. While we value supporting small businesses, the ongoing inconsistency in both quality and quantity makes it hard to justify returning.Sadly, we won’t be coming back. -------------------------------------------------- Original review: Lee’s Kitchen is a cozy, warm spot perfect for a quiet meal. We visited after the lunch rush and were the only table there, which made for a peaceful experience. The food was a delightful surprise—tender rice rolls and flavorful pork stood out, while the popcorn chicken was well-seasoned but lacked crunch. They also serve free soup and roasted peanuts, which is a nice touch. The only challenge was communication, as the server didn’t speak English, so we relied on hand gestures. Despite this, we’ll definitely be back!
Very acceptable chinese food. Their rice rolls alone make them worthy of a recommendation. Be advised their staff don't speak english so you will only order via the webapp that is itself a bit janky. Food could use a bit more flavour in my opinion.
The rice rolls are tender and flavorful. Chow fun is delicious. Fish congee really lacks flavor. The signature nannying old friends rice noodle soup is SPICY and doesn’t look like what I expected!! Service was quick and pleasant
Amazing experience! The service was excellent—friendly and attentive. The rice stone pot was absolutely delicious, with a perfect balance of flavors and textures. But the highlight for me was the fried chicken—crispy on the outside with a flavorful garlic coating, and incredibly juicy on the inside. Every bite was packed with crunch and savoriness. Definitely a must-visit spot, and I’ll be coming back for more!
Giving it two stars only because of the portion and price for being in Redmond/Bellevue area. I was so excited to try this place and sadly it was a very disappointing meal, everything else needs improvement. Service: only one server bringing your food out and bussing the tables but definitely takes their time. You serve yourself water, and grab your own utensils. And server tried to convince me that I'm delusional when I obviously didn't taste or see any eggs in the rice roll that I had added using their online ordering website (oh yeah server doesn't take your order, it's ordered via QR code). And then when we finished eating, we still didn't get our drink so I had the server just cancel the drink and all the dishes took 20-30 minutes to come out. Food: you can get better tasting food at a food court imo. I've had beef chow fun and braised beef noodle soup at soooo many Chinese restaurants and this place was the worst, lacks flavor and the beef briskets tasted like rubber. The chicken cutlet was such a letdown, it does not look like their online menu at all and does not taste like anything special. Rice roll, I can move past the egg situation but overall it was just mid, I do like that it's super thin, which most places don't do but flavor wise, it's soooo underwhelming.
