About Lee’s House
Lee’s House is a Chinese restaurant located at 6187 Santa Teresa Blvd in San Jose, California. As a well-established member of the Chinese Restaurant category, Lee’s House has been serving the local community for an impressive 43 years, identifying itself as a "mom and pop institution." Based on recent customer reviews, Lee’s House appears to be a beloved local spot known for its consistent food quality, friendly service, and community involvement. While specific details about the current dine-in environment are limited due to pandemic-related changes, we can still provide a comprehensive introduction based on the available information.
One of the standout features of Lee’s House, as highlighted by a long-time customer of 15 years, is the consistent quality of their food. This patron stated they have "yet to have a bad meal" in all their years of patronage, which speaks volumes about the restaurant's commitment to maintaining standards over a significant period. This longevity and consistent positive feedback suggest that Lee’s House has established a reliable reputation within the local community for providing satisfying Chinese cuisine.
The same long-time customer also listed several of their favorite dishes, offering valuable insights into the menu highlights at Lee’s House. These include popular American Chinese staples such as "Generals Chicken" and "Chow Fun," along with other flavorful options like "Garlic Noodles," "Pot Stickers," "Honey Walnut Prawns," and "Thai Basil Wings." The mention of these specific dishes indicates a diverse menu catering to various tastes and preferences within the realm of Chinese cuisine. The fact that these items are repeatedly ordered by a loyal customer suggests they are well-prepared and flavorful.
A notable feature mentioned is the ability to customize the spice level of certain dishes. According to the reviewer, items like Generals Chicken, Chow Fun, Garlic Noodles, Pot Stickers, Honey Walnut Prawns, and Thai Basil Wings can be prepared with "zero spice, spicy or HOT!!!" This flexibility in accommodating different spice preferences is a significant advantage, allowing Lee’s House to cater to a broader range of palates, from those who prefer mild flavors to those who enjoy a significant kick in their food.
Beyond just the food and service, Lee’s House has also demonstrated a commitment to the local community. The reviewer expressed happiness in knowing that the restaurant "donated food to my sons nearby elementary school." This act of community support fosters goodwill and indicates that Lee’s House is more than just a place to eat; it’s an establishment that cares about and contributes to its neighborhood. This kind of community involvement can create a stronger bond with local residents and further solidify its reputation as a valued institution.
The reviews also provide some insight into the services offered, particularly in light of the recent pandemic. Prior to COVID-19, Lee’s House apparently had "a small area to eat." However, due to the pandemic, this area was temporarily closed, and the restaurant shifted to a primarily takeout model. The long-time customer expressed hope that the dine-in area would reopen in the future. This indicates that while the current service is primarily focused on takeout, Lee’s House may have offered dine-in options in the past and might do so again. The fact that the restaurant remained open during the pandemic and provided the community with an "affordable, good, safe and quick place to grab a meal" highlights its resilience and its role as a reliable food source during challenging times.
Another recent review from a first-time customer was overwhelmingly positive. They described Lee’s House as a "Great place" and specifically mentioned that they "Loved it." This positive initial experience suggests that Lee’s House continues to make a good impression on new customers. The reviewer also praised the cashier as "super sweet," indicating that the friendly service extends to the front-of-house staff, enhancing the overall customer experience. Their enthusiastic closing remarks, "thank you and we will be back again thank you again," strongly suggest a high level of satisfaction and an intention to become a returning customer.
While one reviewer mentioned not knowing what happened to previous 5-star reviews, their own detailed account paints a picture of a consistently excellent establishment. This might suggest that Lee’s House has maintained its high standards over time, earning the loyalty of long-term patrons and positive first impressions from newcomers.
Given the information available, the environment of Lee’s House currently seems to be geared primarily towards takeout, with a possibility of dine-in service resuming in the future. The focus appears to be on efficiency and providing a safe and quick way for customers to obtain their meals. The atmosphere is likely friendly and community-oriented, given the positive comments about the staff and the restaurant's local involvement.
The services offered currently include takeout, and based on the positive feedback regarding order accuracy and speed during the pandemic, it can be inferred that their takeout system is well-organized. The friendly cashier mentioned in one review suggests a customer-focused approach in their service.
The features of Lee’s House include a long-standing history in the community (43 years), a reputation for consistent food quality, a diverse menu with popular dishes like Generals Chicken, Chow Fun, Garlic Noodles, Pot Stickers, Honey Walnut Prawns, and Thai Basil Wings, and the ability to customize the spice level of several dishes. Their community involvement, such as donating food to a local school, is also a notable feature.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information mentioned in the provided reviews. Local users interested in any special offers or promotions at Lee’s House are advised to contact them directly at (408) 225-2902 or +1 408-225-2902 to inquire. It is praised for its consistently good food, friendly service, and community spirit. Great place, first time and Loved it and the cashier was super sweet, thank you and we will be back again thank you again. 😊
I don’t know what happened to all the 5 star reviews so I guess I’ll review again. I’ve been coming to this 43 year old mom and pop institution for 15 years and have yet to have a bad meal. I have my favorites like Generals Chicken, Chow Fun, Garlic Noodles, Pot Stickers, Honey Walnut Prawns and Thai Basil Wings. All these items can be made zero spice, spicy or HOT!!! I’m even more happy to know they donated food to my sons nearby elementary school. This place was open during the pandemic and the whole community had an affordable, good, safe and quick place to grab a meal. There was a small area to eat prior to COVID but now that area is closed hopefully to open again in the future so everything is to go. Eat here and be happy.
We love this place for takeaway. The dinner special is amazing value, feeds us 2 adults for 2 or 3 meals. The egg rolls are fire. Walnut shrimp is delicious. I’ve gotta try the general chicken other reviewers are highlighting!! Oh yeah it’s always super fast and counter staff is super friendly too.
My family orders a large variety of items each time we get food delivered, each item portion size is large so we end up with a few days worth of leftovers. All of us have our favorite item for example I love the dinner combination plate, my dad loves the shrimp with lobster sauce over white rice, my sister is a fan of the spicy Thai basil fried rice, and my mom is a fan of the pork chow fun and bbq pork wonton soup.
Tiny small chinese restaurant, I ordered fish fillets with basil sauce and it was fantastic! Price was reasonable, friendly environment but they don’t allow dine in, only takeout. Lot’s of parking.
