About Lee's Chinese Inn

Welcome to Lee's Chinese Inn, a Chinese restaurant located at 3438 LA-1 in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. Lee's Chinese Inn offers a variety of Chinese dishes for local customers, providing both dine-in and takeout options. You can contact them at (225) 473-3000 or their mobile number +1 225-473-3000 to place an order or for inquiries.

Based on recent customer reviews, Lee's Chinese Inn appears to have some standout items on their menu, particularly the egg rolls and crab raccoons. One local foodie described these as the best they have had in a long time. The crab raccoons were specifically praised for containing real crab meat mixed with cream cheese, a feature that distinguishes them from other versions that often only have the flavor of crab. This positive feedback suggests that these appetizers are a significant draw for customers.

The same reviewer also shared their experience with other dishes, offering a mixed perspective. The Grilled Shrimp with Grilled Catfish was noted as being good. However, the reviewer advised sticking to items other than the "Chinese food portion" of the menu based on their experience with the Chicken Noodle Bowl and the Shrimp and Veggies with Shrimp Rice. They reported a recurring burnt and bitter taste in these dishes, leaving an unpleasant aftertaste. The vegetables in the Shrimp and Veggies were described as bland and also having a burnt taste.

Despite the negative feedback on some of the Chinese dishes, the reviewer highlighted the generous portion sizes for the price and noted that everything on the menu is very reasonably priced. This suggests that Lee's Chinese Inn offers good value in terms of the amount of food provided.

It is important to note that one review included serious allegations regarding the treatment of an employee and their immigration status. This review described alleged exploitation, low wages, and poor living conditions provided by the owners. While this feedback does not directly pertain to the food or typical restaurant experience, it is part of the publicly available information and should be acknowledged for a comprehensive overview.

Considering the available feedback, Lee's Chinese Inn seems to excel in certain appetizer offerings like the egg rolls and crab raccoons, which have received high praise. The grilled seafood options also appear to be satisfactory. However, there seem to be inconsistencies in the quality and taste of some of the traditional Chinese dishes, with mentions of a burnt and bitter flavor. On the positive side, customers have noted the reasonable prices and generous portion sizes.

For local users in Donaldsonville, LA, who are looking for a Chinese restaurant, Lee's Chinese Inn might be worth considering, especially if you are interested in trying their highly recommended egg rolls and crab raccoons. If you are inclined to order other items, it might be prudent to inquire about the preparation methods or recent changes in the kitchen. The significant allegations in one of the reviews regarding employee treatment are serious and may influence some customers' decisions.

As the provided information does not include details about the restaurant's environment, specific services offered (beyond dine-in and takeout), features, or any promotional information, local customers are encouraged to contact Lee's Chinese Inn directly or visit their location at 3438 LA-1, Donaldsonville, LA 70346, USA, to gain a complete understanding of what they offer. In conclusion, Lee's Chinese Inn in Donaldsonville, LA, is a Chinese restaurant known for its affordable prices and generous portions. While their egg rolls and crab raccoons have received exceptional reviews, some customers have reported issues with the taste of certain Chinese dishes. Additionally, serious allegations regarding past employee treatment have been made in one review. Potential customers may want to weigh these factors when deciding whether to patronize this establishment.

Foodies, here in the area and we have ordered from Lee’s three times so far. The Best Egg Rolls and Crab Raccoons I have had in along time! The Raccoons had crab meat mixed with the cream cheese and it was excellent, most raccoons just have the cream cheese with the flavor of crab, but this had real crab meat inside! The Grilled Shrimp with the Grilled Catfish was very good but you would be better off to stick with anything other than the Chinese food portion of the menu. I had the Chicken Noodle Bowl and the Shrimp and Veggies w/ Shrimp Rice and both times it hasn’t been what I would expect it to be. I don’t know if it’s the Grill but each time it has a burnt taste. I don’t know if it was the Chicken or the Noodles but it had a strong bitter taste and left a really bad aftertaste in my mouth, Grilled Shrimp was good but the Veggies were the same way. They were very bland, had a burnt taste and not a good aftertaste at all. Portion sizes are great for the price and everything on the menu is very reasonable! Thank you so much!

Absolutely horrible people do not support these people and their busses as they are heartless, long story short my husband of 29 yes had to work with these people having no work permit coming from. Guatemala. Yrs went by as we applied with immigration long hrs. Endless days horrible treatment from Lee and his wife, Rudy my husband God fearing would most times take the horrible treatment knowing he had a daughter to support and no papers to work else where. There would be times we wouldn't eat slept in our car, Lee did provide shelter out of his garage on Nancy street no heating nothing for the guys two set of bunk beds for four grown men who worked their asss off. He would pay in cash very little below minimum wage! Rudy now has his work permit and working the oilfield where money is lottery better our daughter last yr in college she'll have her masters and will be a dentist with God's grace. Moral of the story never give up always know God will provide away. See when me Rudy made the decision to leave with little money Mr. Lee refused to pay what was owed we went to chumbly alt where the Chinese people operate a illegal organization, to get sent to another restaurant. Otw there I said stop look how beautiful the church is it was Sunday service just starting i could feel the lord pulling me we went in service was amazing afterwards talking with pastor his caring questions and concerns of what we shared with him, he helped us get in touch with the rite people Rudy got his work permit and we so very thankful for all but I still today feel thou Lee should pay for the way he and his wife toke and take advantage of people. I will continue to press this issue until Rudy is paid and Lee and his wife learn we are all gods children 🙏

I often visit Lee's for the fried fish and sesame chicken family meal special, which is more than reasonable. I always order the shrimp and vegetables fired rice. This is a quick alternative for dinner when cooking is not on your agenda.

Googled this spot and showed up. I have no regrets! Great customer service and the cashier Teresa was so kind and attentive to my girlfriends vegan needs, and answered detailed questions to ensure that there was no meat in her dish. I ordered the 9 shrimp, paster’s, fish, and fried vegetable rice. The order was hot and fresh and the Arnold Palmer lemonade and sweet tea was incredible. Teresa even came out to our cat and offered us more napkins and checked on us while we stuffed our face with great fried rice and fried seafood. I will be telling my family about this golden gem!!!
