This suggests a broad appeal, catering to diverse tastes and preferences. One particularly highlighted dish is the General Tso's Tofu, described as an "absolute favorite" and unmatched in quality compared to other versions found elsewhere. This enthusiastic endorsement speaks to the exceptional preparation and flavor of their vegetarian options, making Lee & Mt Fuji a noteworthy destination for those seeking plant-based delights.
One reviewer shared a particularly insightful and somewhat unconventional first impression of Lee & Mt Fuji, describing it as a "very interesting restaurant and not at all what we expected" yet ultimately "pleasantly satisfied." This immediately sets Lee & Mt Fuji apart, hinting at a dining experience that goes beyond the typical restaurant setting. The reviewer noted that the establishment is also the family home, adding a layer of personal history and intimacy to the dining experience. Upon arrival, they parked in a lot to the left of the building and entered through the front porch door, which led them through what appeared to be someone's living quarters. This unconventional entrance certainly contributes to the restaurant's unique character.
Despite the initial surprise, the reviewer was greeted by a "friendly hostess," underscoring the welcoming nature of the family who runs the establishment. The initial confusion about the entrance was quickly resolved, with the hostess explaining that either the front or the back entrance (leading from a back lot into one of the main dining areas) is acceptable. This information is particularly useful for first-time visitors, guiding them on the best way to access the dining space.
The atmosphere of Lee & Mt Fuji is described as needing "some work," with suggestions for improvements such as better cleanliness, brighter lighting, and general upgrades. This honest feedback provides potential diners with a realistic expectation of the ambiance. While the environment might not be the primary focus, the positive aspects of the food and service seem to outweigh these concerns for many patrons.
Crucially, the reviewer raves about the sushi, describing it as "FABULOUS! π£" This enthusiastic praise is a significant highlight, especially considering the restaurant is categorized as a Chinese restaurant. The inclusion of high-quality sushi suggests a diversification of their culinary offerings and the presence of skilled sushi chefs. For sushi lovers in the Marlborough area, Lee & Mt Fuji presents an unexpected yet potentially rewarding option.
In addition to the sushi, the reviewer also commended the "excellent" miso soup, a staple in Japanese cuisine. This further reinforces the quality of their Japanese offerings. The salad, on the other hand, was described as "basic," providing a balanced perspective on the different components of their meals. The service received high marks, with the reviewer stating that it was "great!" Attentive service is a cornerstone of a positive dining experience, and this feedback suggests that the staff at Lee & Mt Fuji are dedicated to ensuring customer satisfaction.
The reviewer also noted that more customers arrived while they were eating, which helped alleviate the initial feeling of being the only diners. This suggests that while lunchtime might start quietly, the restaurant does attract patrons, indicating a local following. The fact that the reviewer and their husband were celebrating a birthday and chose to try Lee & Mt Fuji for its sushi speaks to the restaurant's appeal as a place to celebrate special occasions and explore new culinary experiences.
Overall, despite the unconventional setting and the need for some environmental upgrades, the reviewer concluded that they "would go back!" This strong endorsement is a testament to the quality of the food, particularly the sushi, and the positive service they received. The unique blend of being a family home and a restaurant adds an element of intrigue and personal connection that is not found in typical dining establishments.

Beautiful, delicious dishes with options for the whole family! The General Tso's Tofu is my absolute favorite and I've yet to find better tofu anywhere else!
Very interesting restaurant and not at all what we expected but we were still pleasantly satisfied! This is the family home. We parked in the lot off the road to the left of the building and entered through the front porch door. We were the only guests there at lunchtime which felt a bit odd but we wanted to see for ourselves. I thought it was the wrong door because it led to a room and hallway that looked like someone's living quarters. We were greeted by a friendly hostess. I asked if we came in the wrong door and she said either way is fine. So, come to find out, there is a back lot and back entrance that comes into one of the main dining areas. The atmosphere could use some work - could be a bit cleaner, brighter, with some general upgrades. BUT, THE SUSHI WAS FABULOUS! π£ It was my husband's birthday and he loves sushi, so we wanted to try something new. The miso soup was excellent. The salad was basic. The service was great! Some more customers came in while we were eating so that made it a little less awkward. Overall, we would go back!
My mom knows pretty much everyone there so Iβm always happy to go in and grab a bite, prices are extremely fair and there more than happy to serve you good food! Definitely a 10/10 spot! Beautiful place to go for quality food!
Well, I'm not really sure what to say. Spent $81 on dinner for 3. The food was just blah π. So many people recommend stopping by here, and I'm trying to figure out why. I'm not trying to be rude, but man, o man, so very disappointing π. I will definitely continue going to Cherry Garden.
Great food. Beef teriyaki was a little dry and tough to chew. Staff were very friendly though. All the food was delicious. We all tried various items from the menu and our group was well satisfied.
