About Lee Cafe
Welcome to Lee Cafe, a Chinese restaurant located at 1046 Regent Pkwy in Fort Mill, South Carolina, serving the local community with a diverse menu of authentic Chinese cuisine and a notable selection of sushi. As a Chinese restaurant, Lee Cafe aims to provide flavors that go beyond typical Americanized Chinese fare, offering dishes that are appreciated for their authenticity, particularly by those familiar with more traditional Chinese cooking styles. Interestingly, Lee Cafe also features a Japanese sushi chef, adding a unique dimension to its culinary offerings.
Based on customer reviews, the environment at Lee Cafe appears to be that of a bustling and popular local eatery. One reviewer mentioned that the place was packed, suggesting that it is a well-regarded dining destination. While specific details about the decor are not provided, the focus seems to be on providing a space where customers can enjoy quality food. The level of busyness might impact the service speed, as one reviewer noted a longer wait time for takeout, which they attributed to the restaurant being very busy.
The service at Lee Cafe is described as being similar to that of other American Chinese restaurants. One reviewer noted that while the service is generally acceptable, expectations might need to be adjusted during peak hours due to the potential for the restaurant to be busy and the high cost of labor in the Charlotte area (presumably relevant to nearby Fort Mill). However, another reviewer specifically mentioned that the staff was "super friendly and helpful," particularly during a busy takeout order experience. This suggests that while there might be occasional delays due to volume, the staff generally strives to provide good customer service.
A significant feature of Lee Cafe is its commitment to offering what at least one reviewer considers "authentic Chinese food," especially when compared to other options in the Charlotte area. The reviewer specifically highlighted several dishes they enjoy, including chili chicken, cold cut, spicy meat in wok, and, notably, spicy pork intestine. This suggests that Lee Cafe serves dishes that cater to those seeking more traditional and perhaps spicier Chinese flavors that might not be commonly found in typical Americanized Chinese restaurants. However, the same reviewer also acknowledged that the standard might differ for those accustomed to the high standards of Chinese food found in major metropolitan areas like New York City, Chicago, or San Francisco.
Adding a unique twist to the offerings at Lee Cafe is its "very decent sushi," prepared by a Japanese chef. This unexpected combination of authentic Chinese cuisine and Japanese sushi under one roof makes Lee Cafe a distinctive dining option. One reviewer even recommended trying the "Omakasa," which is a Japanese term referring to a chef's selection of sushi, often considered a highlight of a sushi experience, showcasing the chef's skill and the freshest ingredients available. This suggests that the sushi at Lee Cafe is not just an afterthought but a serious culinary offering.
One customer shared a positive experience with a takeout order, mentioning that while the wait was an hour, the staff was transparent about the delay before the order was placed. The fact that they were informed beforehand and still chose to order suggests that the anticipated quality of the food was worth the wait. This customer also noted that despite the restaurant being packed, all of their food tasted fresh, which is a testament to the kitchen's ability to handle high volume while maintaining quality. This positive takeout experience led them to state that they would "definitely be back."

In charlotte, this is the best you can have for authentic chinese food. I like chili chicken, cold cut, spicy meat in wok, guest what the best of all is spicy pork intestine. Well if u have nyc chicago, sf standard, thats a different story. The service is same as all american chinese restaurants. While if they are busy, you will need to lower the expectation, as labor is so expensive in charlotte. My family visits here about 2/3 times a month. We really like here. Btw, here has very decent sushi, chef is a japanese. Omakasa you should try.
Husband and I ordered take out from here and it was delicious. The wait was a bit long, 1 hour, but they were very aware of it and let us know before we ordered. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The place was packed and all of our food tasted fresh. We will definitely be back. :)
I ordered the house Lo mein for pick up. I expected it to have several types meat but it only had chicken,3 shrimp and barely any veggies. It was bland, pale and for $16 definitely not worth it.
Food was so bad. We order 2 trays of shrimp lo mein Togo, total is $113. That was so expensive , yet barely any vegetables, shrimp was tiny, lo mein was soggy and plain. I will never come back to this place.
It was a Sunday lunch with other two families. The restaurant was busy but very orderly. The food tasted very good. I recommend the mapo tofu. The services were very good. The waitress filled our teapot timely. We will go back for sure.
