Customer reviews for Leawa Chop Suey present a stark contrast in experiences, highlighting both potential strengths and significant areas of concern. One reviewer shared a profoundly negative experience, detailing a problematic order of shrimp fried rice. They reported paying $11 for a whole order and then enduring a 30-minute wait. Following this delay, they were asked by a staff member to reconfirm their order, indicating a possible breakdown in communication or order management. The final product, the shrimp fried rice, was described as a major disappointment, consisting solely of rice and shrimp without any of the typical additions like eggs, onions, or peppers. The reviewer stated the dish tasted "terrible" and expressed strong dissatisfaction with the overall experience, including the lack of an apology for the poor customer service. This customer vowed never to patronize the restaurant again and wished they could have given a zero-star rating, labeling their experience as "aweful."
In stark contrast, another reviewer offered a glowing assessment, describing Leawa Chop Suey as having a "great family and great service and great food!!" This positive feedback suggests that some customers have had highly satisfactory experiences with the restaurant's hospitality and culinary offerings.
Considering these opposing viewpoints, Leawa Chop Suey appears to be a restaurant with the potential for both positive and negative customer experiences. The extremely negative review raises serious concerns about order accuracy, food quality, preparation standards, and customer service. The significant delay in receiving a simple order, the subsequent confusion about the order, and the substandard quality of the dish delivered are all critical issues that could deter potential customers. The lack of an apology for these errors further exacerbates the negative impression.
On the other hand, the positive review praises the family atmosphere, service, and food, indicating that Leawa Chop Suey is capable of providing a pleasant dining experience. This suggests that the negative experience might be an outlier or that there are inconsistencies in the restaurant's operations. It is possible that different customers have varying expectations or that the quality of service and food can fluctuate.
For local users considering Leawa Chop Suey, it is essential to weigh these contrasting opinions carefully. If you prioritize accuracy in your order, timely service, and a well-prepared dish with standard ingredients, the negative review should give you pause. The description of the shrimp fried rice as plain and terrible suggests a significant deviation from typical expectations for this common Chinese dish. The poor handling of the order and the lack of apology also point to potential weaknesses in their customer service approach.
However, the positive review suggests that Leawa Chop Suey might also offer a welcoming environment with good food and service. This could be the experience of other customers who have not encountered the issues detailed in the negative review. It is possible that the restaurant has loyal patrons who appreciate its offerings.
As a Chinese restaurant, Leawa Chop Suey likely offers a variety of classic Chinese dishes, which may include other types of fried rice, noodle dishes like lo mein or chow mein, various meat and vegetable stir-fries, and perhaps soups and appetizers. Given the limited information, it is difficult to ascertain their specific menu specialties or any unique features that set them apart from other Chinese restaurants in the area. There is no information provided about the restaurant's ambiance or whether they offer dine-in services in addition to takeout.
Similarly, there is no promotional information available in the provided text. It is common for restaurants to offer lunch specials, combination meals, or family deals, but whether Leawa Chop Suey has any such promotions is unknown. Local users interested in potential deals or their complete menu would need to contact the restaurant directly using the provided phone numbers.
In conclusion, Leawa Chop Suey in St. Louis, MO, presents a mixed profile based on the limited customer feedback available. While one customer reported a severely negative experience with a poorly prepared dish, long wait time, and poor service, another praised the family atmosphere, service, and food. Potential local customers should consider these contrasting views and perhaps exercise caution when placing their orders, especially for dishes like fried rice. Contacting the restaurant directly for menu details, information about dine-in options, and any current promotions would be a prudent step before deciding to patronize Leawa Chop Suey.

Order a whole order of shrimp fried rice. Paid $11. Waited 30 mins for order. Rep asked after 30 mins what did I order??? Blank stares. After reconfirming my order which I paid in advance only to receive it in disappointment. Rice and shrimp only. No eggs onions peppers nothing just plain and tasted terrible. I will never patronize this restaurant again. The rep never even offered an apology for the poor customer service. I am a very dissatisfied customer. I really wanted to leave zero stars. Aweful experience with this business!!!
Great family and great service and great food!!
I really like their food, especially the broccoli and beef. You can really taste the beef and veggies as it's not covered in that thick brown gravy like at so many other places. The restaurant is mainly for takeout as there only three tables. They have a good menu but don't have some things that I like such as pot stickers. My only real problem with them is that they seem to automatically say that orders called in for takeout will take 20 minutes. Then you still have to wait for your order even if you allow extra time. I would really appreciate it if they didn't automatically say 20 minutes and gave a more accurate pickup time so that my order would be ready when I got there and I wouldn't have to wait - especially when I have already allowed extra time. I usually try to call my order in. However, fairly often during their open hours, no one answers the phone. I'm assuming they're taking another order but they need to get a wait system for incoming callers rather than just not answering. Also, you can't leave a message because their mailbox stays full.
Had never eaten here before and won't again. People inside said it was good but just like myself everyone has their own opinion. The rice was ok but the gizzards and St Paul left my to be desired. Also crab rangoon was too hard or refried. Either way 🤮
