About Lam's Garden

Lam's Garden is a Chinese Restaurant located at 1100 N Raleigh Blvd # 113 in Raleigh, North Carolina, serving the local community with a range of Chinese cuisine, primarily for takeout and potentially delivery. Based on recent customer reviews, Lam's Garden appears to have experienced a potential shift in food quality and consistency, leading to disappointment among some previously satisfied patrons. These reviews suggest a recent decline that prospective customers should be aware of.

One reviewer inquired about potential changes within the restaurant, specifically asking, "was someone hired or management change just last year?" This question implies a noticeable difference in the food quality compared to a previous time, suggesting that there might have been alterations in the kitchen staff or management that have impacted the culinary standards. This reviewer recounted a positive past experience with the pepper steak and onion dish, describing it as "great." However, upon reordering the same dish recently, they were significantly disappointed, noting the absence of pepper and spice, resulting in a lack of flavor. They also raised concerns about the quality of the "beef," describing it as "questionable." This negative comparison to a previous positive experience indicates a potential decline in the preparation and ingredient quality of at least one of Lam's Garden's dishes.

The same reviewer mentioned observing "declining reviews" and regretted not heeding them as a "red flag," stating that they had to "live and learn." This suggests a trend of negative feedback from other customers, reinforcing the concern about a potential decrease in the restaurant's standards. This is a crucial point for potential new customers, as it indicates that the issues experienced by this reviewer might not be isolated incidents.

Another reviewer echoed the sentiment of a recent decline in quality, stating that "up until this month this place was the best." They specifically praised the previously "fresh delicious sesame chicken and shrimp and broccoli and excellent dumplings." This indicates that Lam's Garden had a reputation for serving high-quality versions of these popular Chinese dishes. However, their recent experiences have been significantly different. On their last two orders, the sesame chicken was described as "spongy, overcooked, and clearly old and had been reheated several times." This detailed description points to a significant drop in the freshness and preparation quality of a previously favored dish. Furthermore, the sauce that used to be "thick" had become "watery and barely warm," indicating a change in the sauce's consistency and temperature, further contributing to the reviewer's disappointment.

As a result of these negative experiences, this long-time satisfied customer expressed deep disappointment and stated that they "probably won’t be ordering from them for a while." This strong reaction from a previously loyal patron underscores the severity of the perceived decline in food quality at Lam's Garden.

Based on these two recent reviews, we can identify the following key concerns regarding Lam's Garden:

  • Declining Food Quality: Both reviewers noted a significant decrease in the quality of food compared to previous experiences.
  • Inconsistent Preparation: The pepper steak and onion lacked flavor and spice, while the sesame chicken was described as spongy, overcooked, old, and reheated.
  • Questionable Ingredients: One reviewer raised concerns about the quality of the "beef."
  • Changes in Sauces: The sesame chicken sauce has reportedly become watery and barely warm.
  • Potential Management or Staff Changes: One reviewer speculated about recent changes within the restaurant as a possible cause for the decline.
  • Negative Trend: The mention of "declining reviews" suggests that these negative experiences might be part of a broader pattern.

The provided reviews do not offer any information about the environment of Lam's Garden, such as whether it has a dine-in area or primarily focuses on takeout and delivery. Similarly, there are no details about the services offered beyond food preparation and order fulfillment. The menu and the variety of dishes available are also not detailed, except for the mentioned pepper steak and onion, sesame chicken, shrimp and broccoli, and dumplings.

Furthermore, there is no information available regarding any promotional offers, special deals, or loyalty programs that Lam's Garden might be running. Local users interested in such information should contact the restaurant directly at (919) 828-2118 or +1 919-828-2118 to inquire.

In conclusion, recent customer reviews for Lam's Garden in Raleigh, NC, paint a concerning picture of declining food quality and consistency. While the restaurant may have previously been a preferred choice for some, recent experiences with dishes like pepper steak and onion and sesame chicken suggest a significant drop in standards. The speculation about management or staff changes and the mention of a trend of negative reviews should give potential customers pause. Local users might want to exercise caution when considering Lam's Garden based on this recent feedback. It would be advisable to seek more current reviews or perhaps try a small order to assess the current quality before placing a larger one. Given the lack of information about the environment, services beyond takeout, and any potential promotions, the primary focus for potential customers should be the reported issues with food quality.

Flavor gone! "beef" was questionable. Seeing the declining reviews shouldve been my red flag but you live and learn.

Purchased a chicken lo mein lunch special today. The lo mein had a dead roach in the noodles. I called to inform them of what I found and informed them I would return after work for a refund. When I arrived with an almost food dish of food remaining, the Asian women, picked up a fork and started searching for the roach. She said she didn't see anything and threw six dollars on the counter. I stated I paid $7.80 for the meal. She stated I had eaten the egg roll so $6 was all she was going to refund. Eat here at your own risk.
