Welcome to Lam Hoa Thuan, a unique establishment in San Francisco that falls under the Chinese Restaurant category, while also offering a selection of Vietnamese cuisine. Located at 2337 Irving St, we cater to a broad range of palates, providing a diverse menu that blends the flavors and culinary traditions of both Chinese and Vietnamese cultures. For years, we have been a part of the local community, serving dishes that have become favorites for many.

Our menu features a variety of options, with some dishes particularly standing out among our loyal customers. A highly recommended item is our BBQ pork over rice. This classic dish has been enjoyed by families for generations, and we offer a unique customization option: customers can specify their preference for a fattier or leaner cut of pork when placing their order. This attention to detail ensures that each individual can savor the dish according to their taste.

Another popular choice at Lam Hoa Thuan is our house special ho fun soup. This comforting and flavorful soup has also garnered recommendations from our long-standing patrons, highlighting its quality and taste. It represents just one of the many dishes that have kept our customers returning year after year.

One of the notable features of Lam Hoa Thuan is our dual offering of both Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine. This allows diners to explore a wider range of flavors and dishes in a single visit. We also strive to keep our prices reasonable, making Lam Hoa Thuan an accessible option for many in the community looking for a tasty and affordable meal. This value proposition, combined with the variety of our menu, contributes to our appeal as a local dining spot.

It is important to note that Lam Hoa Thuan operates on a cash-only basis. We want to ensure that all our customers are aware of this policy before their visit to ensure a smooth and convenient transaction.

In terms of our staff and service, customer experiences have varied. While some feedback mentions a particular staff member who can be perceived as aggressive or rude, the general consensus is that the staff will ultimately assist you with your needs. We are always looking for ways to improve our customer service and appreciate all feedback in this regard.

One customer shared a mixed experience, describing the place as "decent, not too shabby." They found the food they ordered, specifically the duck, to be oily, cold, and salty, and felt that the egg noodles did not compare favorably to another establishment. While they acknowledged the lower prices, they indicated a likelihood of not returning in the near future based on this particular experience. This feedback highlights the importance of consistency in our food preparation and service quality.

Despite some mixed reviews, the positive feedback from long-term customers regarding specific dishes like the BBQ pork over rice and the house special ho fun soup indicates that Lam Hoa Thuan has established a reputation for certain well-loved items. The availability of both Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine at reasonable prices also remains a significant draw for many.

The place is decent, not too shabby. The staff is alright, though not particularly friendly. I found the food to be lacking; I ordered the duck, and it was quite oily, cold, and salty. The egg noodles didn't compare to VH in Oakland, which I can understand given the lower prices. Overall, it was an acceptable meal, but I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon. Cash only!

The food is great; my family has been coming here for years and years. Our recommendations are the bbq pork over rice (tip: you can ask for a fattier or leaner cut when ordering depending on your preference) and the house special ho fun soup. Both the Chinese and Vietnamese options are good and the prices are reasonable. There’s one staff member that is consistently pretty aggressive and rude, but in general they will help you.

Best bun bo hue I've had. The roast duck was a little too fatty and salty for me, but the bun bo hue made up for it. The cold soy milk was so delicious! The bun bo hue was even more delicious.

The best soy sauce chicken I ever have. Everything I stop by, I will get the soy sauce chicken. The wonton noodle soup is also good. Charshiu and roast pork are average. Duck is good. It was very busy when we arrived because of the sunset night market event. The service was very quick. Your order comes in no time. It is cash only.price is reasonable. This plas is mostly a local eatery.

It’s a hit or miss depending on what you get. I ordered the orange peel duck and it was dry and disappointing. The noodle soup was tasty. Their bbq duck and other bbq items are definitely delicious. I like their soy milk.
