About La Terraza Mexican Restaurant

La Terraza Mexican Restaurant is located at 254 US-90, Defuniak Springs, FL 32433, USA. They can be contacted at phone number (850) 951-0600 or mobile phone +1 850-951-0600.

Based on customer reviews, La Terraza offers a unique dining environment as it is situated within a grocery store. One reviewer found this "different," initially feeling as if they were in a grocery store before noticing the tables. They questioned the authenticity compared to Tex-Mex cuisine, which they were more accustomed to, and noted that the waitress had limited English proficiency.

The same reviewer described the chicken enchiladas as simply shredded chicken rolled in flour tortillas with a light garnish on top, a layer of tomato paste, and a minimal amount of onions. The rice was considered average, and beans were not evaluated. The beef tacos to go were reported to have similar characteristics, containing just beef with a small amount of a green topping that lacked cilantro flavor, and no lettuce, tomatoes, or cheese. A little cheese, described as resembling Parmesan but without much flavor, was present on the beans. Side salsas in squeeze bottles were noted to have some spice. This reviewer found the experience "interesting" but personally would not return.

In contrast, another customer described the food as "amazing" and, while acknowledging the unusual setting within a grocery store, recommended it for those seeking an authentic experience.

As a Mexican restaurant in Defuniak Springs, La Terraza offers a potentially authentic culinary experience in an unconventional setting within a grocery store. Reviews suggest a simple approach to some dishes, which might differ from typical Tex-Mex expectations. While one customer appreciated the authenticity and quality of the food, another found the dishes lacking in familiar ingredients and flavors. For local users seeking a different kind of Mexican food experience and who value authenticity over a traditional restaurant setting, La Terraza might be worth a visit.

Different !!! I walked in and thought I was in a grocery store, then saw some tables up front (see photo). Authentic? Maybe! I’m used to TexMex, so I didn’t really like it. The waitress was very sweet but barely understood English. The chicken enchiladas were literally shredded chicken rolled in a flour tortillas. Any extra ingredients were a light garnish on top. A layer of tomato paste (almost made it taste Italian), then very light garnish of onions, etc. The rice was average, and I don’t like beans so no eval there (see photo). The 7UP bottle was not English label, kinda cool (see photo). Beef tacos to go, similar issues. Just beef, with a little bit of green stuff I thought was Cilantro but it didn’t have any real flavor. (Cilantro would have really helped). Beef and a few green leafy parsley?, but no lettuce no tomatoes, no cheese in the tacos. A little bit of cheese on the beans, looked like Parmesan but wasn’t, not much flavor. Side salsas in squeeze bottles had some spice. As I said, DIFFERENT ! Interesting but I personally wouldn’t go back.

Food was amazing it's not really in a restaurant. It's a grocery store, but if you're looking for an authentic experience, this is it!

A lot like actually being in Mexico! This is a Tiendra and restaurant. In addition to a good little restaurant, you can get fresh meat at the butcher, hats and boots, Dry Goods and send money overseas

We will definitely be back. This place reminded me of and of the places in AZ I had been to. The food was awesome! Best lengua tacos I have ever had. It was very much worth the wait !

Absolutely Amazing food and atmosphere!!! My Mother and I had decided to go here after repeated reference of good authentic Mexican Food. The place makes you feel like you are in Mexico with good music and decorations. The owner was very nice, welcoming and proud of his business. As well he should be!! The food was hot and out quickly. Taste was amazing and authentic. With home made tortillas made right in there kitchen. Only disappointment was that I waited so long to try this place. Puts Larumbas to shame!!!
