La Mei Zi Doraville

I came here due to good reviews and was disappointed. Noodles are tough and salty. Popcorn chicken has little meat. Nice staff members in the restaurant, but what happened to their food quality? My mom and I left the restaurant as quickly as possible.

Our first time here, and it did not disappoint. The service was fast and courteous and our dishes came out speedily and hot. Everything met expectations and was delicious. We had the sweet & sour soup, pork in garlic sauce, and Taiwanese fried rice noodle with shrimp, chicken, and beef.

The restaurant is located at the corner of the small shopping plaza, there's plenty of parking. The service was courteous as well. We ordered Pork Intestine, spicy mapo tofu w/pork, waitress suggested that the two dishes had same flavor, so we switched mapo tofu with pork in garlic sauce. The Pork Intestine was good, no surprise, it could be spicier; but pork in garlic sauce was surprisingly sweet and not spicy at all, its Chinese name is 鱼香肉絲, but it's nothing like it, a huge misleading statement. As a Sichuan restaurant , it should provide at least something close to it. I'm very disappointed.

If you are looking for authentic Taiwanese dishes, this is the place to go in Doraville. Lamb with white onions in brown sauce was my favorite dish. I went there today with my learning-to-speak Chinese class today. Excellent service. I will be back.

Nestled in the back of Asian Square, La Mei Zi has an extensive menu of Taiwanese and Chinese cuisines. We've been here a couple of times over the last few years, but have been more so recently. The food has been consistent-- no frills, just good food. The taste is flavorful and isn't obviously oily. They have a lot of pick-up and delivery orders. Dining in is nice. It's a simple and relaxed ambiance. Staff is welcoming, and the food comes out in a timely manner.
