Service is great. Egg shell in the fried rice. Boo. Chicken was just bad. The egg roll was delicious though. And the Pu Pu Platter was good.
The food is delicious! However, the wait staff is totally unorganized, and waited too long to take our order. The waiters took the orders of regular customers over customers that were unfamiliar to them. We had to ask three times who our waiter was to only to have this waiter go to the table next to us first, even though they came in after us. It was clear the waiter knew who they were by his greeting to them and the banter between them. When the food was finally brought out to us, he announced that they were out of what one of us had ordered. To not tell us that information until everyone else had their food was ridiculous. We should have been told right away in a timely fashion so another entree could be ordered. He blamed the kitchen saying they’re all Spanish and don’t speak English. Then, this same waiter pressured us for a tip and showed us the tip “his friends”had given him, as if we had no clue how to tip or how much. I used to frequent the restaurant with my parents as a child when we lived in Wantagh. To come back now as a grandmother to see the way customers are treated was very sad.
Not happy. Quite possibly the worst Chinese food I've had on Long Island and literally wasted $80 on it. I asked for crispy chicken for the General Tzo's and Sesame Chicken (both $22 a dish)... the flavor was not good and the chicken was mushy. I went to eat it literally 5 minutes after picking it up and waited for the food in the restaurant - therefore it wasn't left to get mushy... it came that way. The small ribs for $25 are pathetic and mostly fatty - Not good. The Chicken Lo-mein was fine. I'm disgusted. Then they wanted to charge an extra 3% for credit card - So I slapped down a $100 and left. Never returning and my youthful memories are ruined forever. Go to Hunan Dynasty in East Meadow - You'll get your money's worth. This was embarrassing.
There’s a reason why certain restaurants are open for decades and decades, and it’s because they’re great! The owners are really kind, and even went out of their way to help my grandma up the few steps when she was still alive. It was our favorite restaurant to go to together and we were never disappointed. You can’t complain about the price when the food is this great. If you want cheap takeout, go somewhere else! They have a gigantic dining area for a reason, it’s not some shady small takeout restaurant. Their food is consistently delicious, and drinks are great as well.
Large dining room. This is your father's Chinese restaurant from the 1960s, right down to the choose from column A and column B on the menu. The staff was attentive and quick. The portions are huge. My wife and I both brought home half of our meals. The egg rolls are enormous. The wonton soup was in an interesting dark broth. They feature light sauce with the. Egg foo young. Meaty and moist chicken wing appetizers. Shrimp and lobster sauce had large fresh shrimp. The fried rice looked very promising with a good color and lots of ingredients, but sadly the flavor was not quite the old 196os flavor fried rice. Interestingly, everything tasted better the next day after reheating, especially the egg rolls, which benefitted from the apricot sauce. I don't usually put that on my egg rolls, but these needed it due to a slightly bitter undertaste.
