About Kung Pao Bistro

Kung Pao Bistro is a Chinese restaurant located at 7853 Santa Monica Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90046, USA. They can be contacted at (323) 848-9888 or +1 323-848-9888.

Recent customer reviews paint a concerning picture of Kung Pao Bistro. One former regular customer expressed extreme dissatisfaction with a recent takeout order, describing the food as "horrible," "overly sweet, too salty, inedible greasy and gross," and even stating that the sauce tasted worse than a fast-food chain's pre-made sauce. This reviewer also reported a negative interaction with the owner who allegedly showed a lack of concern and offered no resolution despite the customer's long-term patronage and significant past orders, leading to a vow to discourage others from dining there.

Another review echoes serious issues with the restaurant's management and service. This customer reported instances of the restaurant closing early without notice, even during advertised late-night happy hour times, and claimed that what you can order may depend on the waitress. The reviewer advises calling ahead to ensure the restaurant is open and serving, citing bad management as a likely reason for the restaurant often being empty. This customer strongly recommends against giving the restaurant business, suggesting support for establishments that prioritize customer care and food quality.

Based on these recent reviews, potential customers should be aware of reported issues regarding food quality, customer service, and the reliability of the restaurant's operating hours before deciding to dine at or order from Kung Pao Bistro.

I use to like this restaurant until today, I had a take out order and the food was horrible, the sauce taste worst then Panda Express fake, pre made sauce. Panda Express actually taste better. Overly sweet, too salty, inedible greasy and gross. When I called the owner he could care less and did not even offer to re cook or offer another chance for a service recovery. Owner could care less. It is a shame given that I have ordered catering, and patronized his restaurant for 3 years. He still could not event offer a credit for the horrible food I received. Worst customer experience, and I am in the hospitality industry. I'll tell all of my hotel counterparts never use this restaurant. The meat and food taste fake, weird mystery meat, cheap bottled sauce. Do not go, and give them business! Support other restaurants that care, and have quality food.

I’m giving one star because they don’t deserve to be in business. They don’t care about customers and they literally do whatever they want whenever they want. They advertise late night happy hour starting at 9 pm and they will lock the door when they see you walking up and claim they closed early. The other night they closed at 8:15 just because it was raining and they felt like it. The food was good when they decided to be open however you never know what you can order, it will be up to your waitress. Don’t waste your time driving there unless you call ahead to verify you can be served. Bad management which is such a shame but it explains why the place is empty when we did get in to eat. We are no longer surprised by the bad reviews. If you just want to be take out then be truthful on your website and menus, etc

Service was horrible. Took the waitress 4 tries to take my order, constantly rushing off to another table for one reason or another. To make things worst, she unable (or unwilling..) to make any recommendation of dishes to try. I should have left right there without ordering food, big mistake. The place looks like a mess, Covid style divides with restaurant supplies stored right next to diners. The bathroom was a mess and falling apart. Food was below average. Never returning there.

This was the best food I’d had while visiting LA! The pork belly was crisp and well rendered! The Hawaiian fried rice was delicious and the perfect amount of shrimp and pork! The service was great and the price was even better! You need to go!

Amazing Happy Hour dinner. Got there at 5:50, deal ends at 6 and they still gave it to us. We got two appetizers, two entrees, and two cocktails for $45. great deal. kimchi butter noodles were super spicy and yummy.
