The intimate setting might even contribute to a more focused and authentic culinary atmosphere.
The service at Kung Fu Xiao Long Bao is highlighted by one reviewer who mentioned the staff as being "friendly." While specific details about the service style are not extensively provided, a friendly staff can significantly enhance the dining experience, making guests feel welcome and comfortable. Combined with the positive remarks about the food, a friendly service contributes to a positive overall impression of the restaurant.
The primary feature of Kung Fu Xiao Long Bao is undoubtedly its soup dumplings, which are described as being of "good quality." One reviewer specifically noted the quality of the skin, stating that it is "thick and the soup will not come out," which is a crucial characteristic of well-made Xiao Long Bao. This indicates that the dumplings are expertly crafted to contain the flavorful broth within the delicate wrapper until the diner takes a bite. Another reviewer mentioned that the "black truffle" soup dumpling was one of their favorites, suggesting that the restaurant offers innovative and perhaps premium variations of this classic dish.
In addition to the soup dumplings, the restaurant also serves dim sum, which one reviewer enthusiastically described as "popping!!" and so good that "you can't go wrong here." This suggests that while the name highlights Xiao Long Bao, the other dim sum offerings are also of high quality and worth exploring. Dim sum typically includes a variety of small, savory dishes, such as dumplings, buns, and rolls, offering a diverse range of flavors and textures.
One reviewer noted that the "was decent," but did not elaborate further. This suggests that while the soup dumplings and other dim sum are highlights, other aspects of the menu might be satisfactory but not the primary focus. Another observation was that the portion size of the soup dumplings was "not very huge" and "good for one person." This is important for potential diners to note regarding the serving sizes. The same reviewer also mentioned that the food was "little oily and salty," suggesting that those sensitive to oil or sodium should be aware of this characteristic. However, they also noted that this level of seasoning meant "no need to add additional sauce," implying that the flavors are well-integrated into the dishes. The recommendation to "prepare to drink a lot water" further supports the observation of a slightly higher sodium content.
A unique and heartwarming anecdote shared by a reviewer adds to the positive atmosphere of the restaurant. The interaction with an elderly Chinese lady who complimented their chopstick skills and teaching ability highlights a welcoming and perhaps authentic cultural environment within the small space. This personal touch suggests a friendly and community-oriented atmosphere that goes beyond just the food itself.
An important piece of information for potential customers is that Kung Fu Xiao Long Bao operates as a "cash only" establishment. This means that they do not accept credit or debit cards, so diners must come prepared with sufficient cash to pay for their meals. This is a crucial detail to be aware of before visiting the restaurant to avoid any inconvenience.

This is definitely good quality soup dumplings. The quality of the skin is thick and the soup will not come out. The was decent. The portion of size was not very huge. It's good for one person. The food was little oily and salty, no need to add additional sauce. Prepare to drink a lot water. The staff is friendly! The black truffle was one of my favorite soup dumpling!
Had a wonderful dinner with our 4 person family. Minus a mistake with the milk tea and there being not being alcohol; this was the best soup dumplings I’ve had in flushing. Yes, better than Nan Xiang. Food was well prepared and seasoned. Extremely nice portions, flavor, texture, service, price! Will return!
Had some of the best dim sums and dumplings ever. The crab dim sums had a subtle garlicky taste and melted in the mouth. The chicken dumplings in hot and sour sauce were amazing too! The place also serves complimentary hot tea! But they accept cash only, so make sure you have cash on you before you visit.
I would have given them 10 stars if Google reviews had the option because it was sooo good. I went to NY from Germany and made an effort to travel to Flushing from Manhatten just to eat their dumplings and I am glad that I did. They were the best and Their staff is so nice, soft spoken and very helpful in describing the taste and content of food before I ordered. Highly recommend going here♥️♥️
