Koywan Buffet

The food at this place is good, but for an Asian buffet, the absence of the famous boneless spare ribs is a letdown...that's already a loss of points. The service is decent, but they need to pay more attention to the food trays, as some were nearly empty. Now, the biggest issue: cleanliness. When we arrived, they gave us a table, but the chair I was about to sit on was covered in rice. At the ice cream station, the cups for serving had napkins nearby to dry them, but those napkins had black specks of mold—definitely not acceptable. On the positive side, the pricing is reasonable, the variety of food is decent, and the sushi was good. However, they seriously need to step up their cleaning standards!

Sushi was amazing, but the buffet all you can eat wide variety was very salty, possibly old food or not prepared correctly.

Staff behind buffet were busy on their phones, and seemed like they couldn’t care less about keeping it clean or stocked lots of empty dishes on buffet line. A cheap way to fill up on low grade food.

Paid $12.83 with tax lunch buffet on a Wednesday afternoon. First of all i noticed was the place is kinda old and outdated. It has this old smell that make me lose my appetite as soon as I entered. It seriously needs renovation especially the toilets. Regarding the food, nothing special just average, there are plenty of choices, there are like 4-5 seafood dishes, mostly meats but not too much vegetable options. Desert section has limited choice too, there is a freezer with different flavor of ice cream but I didn’t get it because looks like it hasn’t been cleaned for months. Sushi buffet has lots of choices but some are labeled for dinner only that you need to pay more for it. There is also hibatchi section but I didn’t try it. Service is good, staffs are friendly. Overall, for the price and quality of food maybe can consider dining here again in the future.

The sushi was wonderful. It would have been worth the price if that is all I got. We got there a little after noon and all the food trays were full. When I went back to get a refill I noticed that several of the offerings were empty but there was still plenty of choice. For a lunch the price was more than fair for what we got... a good value for the money. I knocked it down a bit for the service because we were never offered more water and I had to go to the service station to ask for a fork I dropped. They were also slow picking up dirty plates, so three stars for service is generous. We will be back.
