About Kongs Village
Kongs Village is a Chinese restaurant situated at 410 Main St in Winthrop, Maine. As a new addition to the local "Chinese Restaurant" category, it has replaced a previous establishment known as China Noodle. Kongs Village aims to provide Chinese cuisine to the Winthrop community, offering both takeout and potentially dine-in services. They can be contacted at phone number (207) 377-7338 or mobile phone number +1 207-377-7338.
Information regarding the environment of Kongs Village is limited based on the provided reviews. One customer who ordered takeout did not comment on the interior or ambiance of the restaurant itself. The other reviewer, who mentioned ordering General Tao's chicken and chop suey, also did not describe the dining environment. As Kongs Village is noted as a recent establishment, having taken over from China Noodle, it is possible that the décor or atmosphere may have been updated or retained from the previous tenant. Without more specific feedback, local users will need to visit the location to assess the environment for themselves.
The service at Kongs Village appears to be efficient for takeout orders, as one reviewer mentioned that their order "Was made quick." This suggests that Kongs Village prioritizes speed and efficiency for customers who prefer to take their food to go. However, the service experience for dine-in customers or in terms of attentiveness is not detailed in the available reviews. One reviewer focused primarily on the quality of the food received, without commenting on the interaction with staff or the overall service during their experience.
The features of Kongs Village include a menu offering standard Chinese dishes, such as General Tao's chicken and chop suey, as mentioned in one of the reviews. The fact that it replaced China Noodle suggests that it likely caters to a similar customer base seeking familiar Chinese-American cuisine. One positive aspect highlighted by a takeout customer was the deliciousness of the food, leading them to express their intent to order again and noting a significant improvement over the previous restaurant. This indicates that Kongs Village has the potential to satisfy customers with its flavors and preparation.
However, the other review presented a starkly contrasting experience regarding the food quality. This customer found several items to be problematic. The General Tao's chicken was described as "very tough" with a noticeable "breading?" suggesting an undesirable texture. The chicken fingers were also reported as tough, with a hard-to-chew dough. The reviewer speculated that the food might have been reheated in a microwave, leading to the toughness of the meat and dough. Additionally, the duck sauce was described as "diluted tremendously and very thin," lacking in flavor and resembling water. This feedback raises significant concerns about the consistency and quality of some of the dishes offered at Kongs Village.
Currently, there is no promotional information available for Kongs Village in the provided reviews. As a new establishment, it is possible that they may introduce special offers or discounts to attract new customers. Local users interested in potential promotions would need to check with the restaurant directly, either by phone or by visiting their location. New restaurants often use introductory deals to encourage first-time visits and build a customer base.
For local users in Winthrop, ME, considering Kongs Village as a "Chinese Restaurant" option, the recent feedback presents a divided view. One customer had a positive experience with their takeout order, finding the food delicious and a significant improvement over the previous restaurant at that location. This suggests that Kongs Village is capable of producing satisfying meals. However, the other reviewer's experience was overwhelmingly negative, citing issues with the texture of multiple items (General Tao's chicken, chicken fingers), the quality of the duck sauce, and the possibility of reheated food. This indicates potential inconsistencies in food preparation or quality control.
Given these contrasting experiences, local residents might approach Kongs Village with cautious optimism. The positive takeout review is encouraging, especially for those looking for a quick and tasty meal to go. However, the negative review, detailing multiple issues with a dine-in (or at least consumed on-site) order, should not be ignored. It highlights potential problems with the texture and flavor of certain dishes. As Kongs Village is a new establishment, it may still be working on consistency and refining its menu and preparation methods. Potential customers might consider trying a takeout order first to gauge the quality for themselves, or perhaps inquire about the preparation methods of specific dishes they are interested in.
In conclusion, Kongs Village in Winthrop, ME, is a new Chinese restaurant that has elicited mixed reactions from its early customers. While one reviewer praised the delicious takeout food and noted an improvement over the previous tenant, another reported significant issues with the toughness of the meat and breading in their General Tao's chicken and chicken fingers, as well as a watery and flavorless duck sauce. The service was noted as quick for takeout, but other aspects of service and the restaurant's environment are not detailed. Without further information or more consistent reviews, local users may need to try Kongs Village for themselves to determine if it meets their expectations for Chinese cuisine.

Got takeout. Was made quick and it was so delicious. Had not tried this place yet but very impressed. much improvement from the prior tenant China noodle! I’ll definitely be ordering here again.
We had general Tao's chicken and chop suey Actually, the chop suite wasn't half bad, but it wasn't really great.Either the general Tao's chicken was very tough and breading? And the chicken fingers was tough. It was almost as if I feel everything had been reheated in the microwave. Everything was tough, the meat was tough. The dough around The chicken fingers were tough and hard to chew. And the duck sauce seemed to be diluted tremendously and very thin. As well as not very flavorful. It was like water. I'm sorry, but I won't go back there again.
The crab Rangoons were awesome but I also ordered large house rice noodles for $17.00 and it came in a 3 inch x 4 inch box. About the size of a muffin before all the delivery and other fees were applied. My first and last experience with this restaurant as the price for what you get is not comparable to other Asian restaurants in the area
I bought stick on the stick. I had one steak on a stick and the second one had a tiny piece of meat. I do think I will not come back. I will drive into Augusta to get better Chinese food then go to Winthrop. your restaurant looks dirty
first time trying and prices are REALLY good. got two orders of general chicken, 2 orders chicken tenders, beef teriyaki, egg rolls, beef and broccoli and a few sides and sauces for under $50 i was shocked as most places this would be $80-100. portions are good as well! very standard classic chinese food!
