About Kong Kee Chinese Fast Food

Welcome to Kong Kee Chinese Fast Food, a local Chinese restaurant situated at 100 N Beretania St, Honolulu, HI 96817, USA. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, Kong Kee offers a fast-food style approach to enjoying Chinese cuisine, catering to those seeking quick and affordable meals in Honolulu. Based on customer reviews, Kong Kee is characterized as a small, family-run ("mom and pop") establishment that prioritizes efficient service and budget-friendly options.

The environment of Kong Kee Chinese Fast Food is described as a "hole-in-the-wall" location, specifically noted as being in the alleyway to the right of Royal Kitchen. This suggests a no-frills, perhaps more utilitarian setting focused on functionality and speed rather than elaborate decor. The small size of the operation likely contributes to its intimate, family-run feel. While the ambiance might be basic, the focus appears to be on delivering good food quickly and affordably.

Service at Kong Kee is highlighted as "fast," which aligns with its designation as a fast-food establishment. Customers can likely expect a quick turnaround from ordering to receiving their food, making it a convenient option for those on a tight schedule or looking for a swift meal. One reviewer mentioned that while the staff may not speak much English, they were still able to order without significant difficulty, suggesting a level of efficiency in their ordering process, perhaps relying on pointing or simple requests. The overall impression is of a service model geared towards speed and efficiency.

A key feature of Kong Kee Chinese Fast Food is its focus on providing "tasty cheap-eats Chinese food." This affordability is a significant draw for customers, with one reviewer explicitly mentioning "great prices." While one customer expressed a preference against their "fat-noodle dishes," they strongly recommended trying the rice plates, particularly the black pepper pork chop with rice. This dish is noted as offering "really decent food" for the price, indicating a good value proposition. The recommendation of specific dishes suggests that Kong Kee has certain specialties that are well-regarded by its patrons.

Another notable feature mentioned in the reviews is the availability of free 30-minute validated parking in the back, with the entrance located at Kukui Street, near the Chinese School. This is a significant convenience, especially for a location in a potentially busy area like downtown Honolulu. Offering validated parking adds value to the customer experience, making it easier for people to quickly pick up their food or dine in without having to worry about parking fees for a short duration.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for Kong Kee Chinese Fast Food based on the provided text. The primary promotion seems to be its consistently low prices and the good value offered for the quality of food received, particularly the rice plates like the black pepper pork chop with rice. The $8 lunch special mentioned in other Honolulu Chinese restaurant reviews is not referenced here, suggesting that Kong Kee's appeal is more generally based on its everyday affordability. Local users looking for budget-friendly Chinese fast food would likely find their pricing to be a key attraction.

For local users in Honolulu, especially those working or visiting the downtown area, Kong Kee Chinese Fast Food presents a convenient option for a quick and inexpensive Chinese meal. The positive feedback regarding the taste and value of their rice plates, particularly the black pepper pork chop, makes these dishes worth considering. The fast service caters to those with limited time, and the availability of validated parking for a short period adds to the convenience. While the "hole-in-the-wall" description suggests a basic environment, the focus on good food at great prices seems to be the primary draw. If you are looking for no-fuss, affordable Chinese fast food in Honolulu, Kong Kee is a local spot to check out.

In conclusion, Kong Kee Chinese Fast Food in Honolulu offers a straightforward approach to enjoying Chinese cuisine. As a small, cash-only, family-run establishment, it prioritizes fast service and affordable prices. While their fat-noodle dishes may not be universally favored, their rice plates, especially the black pepper pork chop with rice, are recommended for their taste and value. The added convenience of 30-minute validated parking makes it an accessible option for a quick meal in the downtown area. If you're seeking tasty and cheap Chinese eats without the need for a fancy setting, Kong Kee is a local gem to consider.

This place is definitely as 'hole-in-the-wall' as it gets, located in the alley way to the right of Royal Kitchen. This is the place for tasty cheap-eats Chinese food. Not a big fan of their fat-noodle dishes, but definitely try their rice plates, such as their black pepper pork chop w/ rice. For the price, you get really decent food! There's free 30-min validated parking in the back (entrance @ Kukui st) where the Chinese School is.

It’s used to be Kong Kee and now called Heaven Chinese Noodle and BBQ Cafe. Right across from Royal Kitchen. This is a small place that serves simple Cantonese comfort food at very very affordable price. They are opened for dine in but could only seat around 12 people. This family run business deserves more 5-star reviews!
