About Koi Palace Express
Welcome to Koi Palace Express, a Chinese restaurant located at 4288 Dublin Blvd #120 in Dublin, California. As part of the Chinese Restaurant category, Koi Palace Express offers a diverse menu of Chinese cuisine, with a particular dish receiving exceptional praise from its patrons: the pork katsu curry. Based on the available reviews, this establishment appears to be a popular choice, known for at least one truly outstanding dish and experiencing significant customer traffic even during off-peak hours. It's important to note that a 16% service charge is applied to orders.
One of the most striking features of Koi Palace Express, as highlighted by a very enthusiastic customer, is their pork katsu curry. This dish is described as a personal favorite, surpassing numerous other katsu curries tasted elsewhere. The reviewer goes so far as to say it's "absolutely the best," to the point that it has spoiled other katsu curries for them. The tenderness of the katsu is emphasized, being neither mushy nor chewy, but perfectly juicy. The exterior is noted for its satisfying crunch, creating a delightful textural contrast. Furthermore, the portion size is deemed good, with two pieces of katsu provided. This customer has ordered the dish multiple times and reports consistent deliciousness, suggesting a high standard of preparation and quality control for this particular item. The enthusiasm is so strong that the reviewer, even while in Hawaii, cannot stop thinking about it, calling it "life changing" and expressing a desire to learn the chef's recipe.
The curry served with the katsu at Koi Palace Express is described as different from the Japanese curry typically found in other establishments. The reviewer speculates that it might be made with a "yellowish Chinese curry powder." While this particular reviewer personally enjoyed the unique flavor profile, they acknowledge that others who prefer traditional Japanese curry might have a different preference. This indicates a distinctive culinary approach to a familiar dish, potentially appealing to those seeking a different flavor experience.
Beyond the highly praised pork katsu curry, one review mentions a substantial order including Baked Beer Steak in Black Pepper Sauce over Rice with Cheese, Farm Raised Hainan Chicken with Soup, Kois Seafood Pan-fried Crispy Noodle, and roasted duck, along with beverages. The fact that this customer noted the place was "quite busy even during off hours" suggests that Koi Palace Express has a strong local following and experiences consistent demand for its food. This level of busyness could be indicative of the overall quality and appeal of their menu offerings.
It is important for potential customers to be aware that a 16% service charge is applied to orders at Koi Palace Express. This is a significant factor that can influence the overall cost of the meal and should be taken into consideration when budgeting for a visit or placing an order.

There is a 16% service charge. We ordered Baked Beer Steak in Black Pepper Sauce over Rice with Cheese, Farm Raised Hainan Chicken with Soup, Kois Seofood Pan- fried Crispy Noodle, roasted duck, and some beverages. The place was quite busy even during off hours.
Their pork katsu curry is my favorite. I have had so many katsu curry all over the place, and their katsu curry is absolutely the best. After eating their katsu curry, I could not enjoy katsu curry any more. No other katsu is this tender. It is so good it’s almost addicting. The outside is crunchy and the inside gives you just the right amount of tenderness - not mushy, not chewy, very juicy. It has good portion too. They give two pieces of katsu. I’ve got this dish 3 or 4 times and it’s consistently delicious. Not sure about the other dishes - I’ve tasted other dishes here but nothing hits like this katsu. The curry is different from other places curry - I think it’s from one of those yellowish chinese curry powder? Personally I liked it but I can see why others may prefer Japanese curry more. The katsu is actually so good that I am in Hawaii right now and I cannot stop thinking about it. This katsu is life changing. I need to pay the chef a visit next time and learn his recipe.
Authentic Hong Kong style and taste Dim Sum. The beauty of their food lies in the details. Their dim sum flavors are balanced and subtle compared to a lot of I'm sum houses with strong flavors. This success when the skill of the chef is adequate so that the original flavors are put on the spotlight and the delicate skills of the chef in the elements can shine by itself, not the artificial flavors added.
The cabbage in the new menu for the rice combo is a big turn-off for me. It looks and makes the dishes taste and smell horrible. Koi E is usually my staple food almost every day, but I haven’t been able to eat it for months now because of the cabbage in the new menu. It just makes me want to vomit when I smell it.
My first visit, mostly noodle and other simple dishes, no banquet dishes. Great shrimp wontons and ample portions. Fast service. Table services and carryout. Ample parking. Pricey.
