Environment: The dining room at Koi is described as having an absolutely vintage aesthetic, providing a unique and potentially nostalgic setting for diners. The seating is noted to be very comfortable, contributing to a pleasant dining experience.
Services: Koi prides itself on exemplary service. From the moment guests are seated, they are treated with courtesy, starting with a complimentary large pot of tea and the traditional fried cracker things served with duck sauce – a gesture appreciated as often missing in other establishments. The service is attentive, with staff promptly refilling waters and efficiently clearing plates. Notably, the restaurant respects the diners' pace by waiting until appetizers are finished before serving the entrées, allowing for a more relaxed and civilized meal.
Features: The food at Koi is consistently described as amazing and extraordinarily flavorful. While the General Tso's chicken was noted to be not overly spicy, it was exceptionally flavorful, a sentiment echoed for all other dishes tried. The fried food is prepared well, avoiding excessive greasiness, and the portion sizes are described as fantastic. Koi also caters to vegetarians with plenty of choices available, all reported to be well-seasoned. A unique offering is the scorpion bowl, which has also received positive feedback. However, one minor critique was the fortune cookie at the end, noted for being slightly stale with a lackluster fortune.

The emphasis on quality food, excellent service, and a comfortable atmosphere suggests a focus on providing a premium dining experience that encourages repeat visits.

Customer Reviews
This place has single handedly redefined for me what a great Chinese restaurant is. To say that I was pleased is an understatement. To start out with, upon sitting down in a dining room that looks absolutely vintage, we were presented with a large pot of tea and those fried cracker things you dip in duck sauce. This courtesy is something that's been missing for the last 20+ years. Most of the time, you'll need to order the tea; it costs extra and is typicly just a teabag in a cup. Here it is a full pot, nice and hot. Another amazing thing is that they actually waited for us to finish our appetizers before bringing out the entrée. When you go to a lot of places, they sort of rush you by bringing out everything in short order. But not here. Here it was like a civilized meal where you felt like you could eat at your own pace, and not have to worry about cutting the conversation short just to scarf your food so the table doesn't become too crowded. The food itself was amazing. While the General Tzo's was not too spicy, it was extraordinarily flavorful, as was everything else they served. Every dish I tried was great. The fried food wasn't too fried, and the portions were fantastic. The seating was very comfortable. The service was exemplary. They were on top of everything, from refilling the waters to the effortless way they served everything and cleared the extra plates with great haste. The only thing I didn't care for was the fortune cookie at the end. Not only was it a little stale, but the fortune was lousy. Though I'm not going to blame them for that.
My new favorite asian restaurant. The food was fantastic and the staff was as well. I really enjoyed the tea, water, and noodles with duck sauce that was brought out while you look at the menu. The food was perfectly cooked, including the shrimp. There are plenty of vegetarian choices too. It was all well seasoned. The scorpion bowl was great as well. The atmosphere is beautiful and great for either a family dinner or a date night. Definitely a must visit if you are in the area.
I feel like the prices are high if you order a plate and want fried rice it's going to cost you, for example a plate of pepper steak with pork fried rice it's going to be like 30 dollars, the server told us to put our order now because if we waited it was going to take longer, we thought they had a big group coming or something because the place wasn't half full but it actually got less busy. Someone at the table got a Mai Tai drink and said it was the best she ever had until she tried the cherry that was rotted, the food is good I just feel like you can find something similar at any local Chinese takeout restaurant for a lot less money.
We enjoyed our lunch-time visit. The food is great. This is not the low-quality, strip mall Chinese takeout you may often find yourself at. Dishes are prepared with quality ingredients and superb flavor. The decor is lovely and the staff is friendly.
Our favorite Chinese restaurant in Great Barrington and nearby areas. The food is delicious with fresh ingredients and service is excellent. They really go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable.
