About Kobe Teppan & Sushi

Kobe Teppan & Sushi, located at 7824 Pat Booker Rd in Live Oak, Texas, is being presented within a platform category of Chinese Restaurant. However, it primarily offers a Japanese dining experience featuring both teppanyaki and sushi.

Environment: The restaurant offers a teppanyaki dining area where chefs cook at communal tables, as well as a sushi bar. During busy periods, such as Valentine's Day, a wait time of around 40 minutes can be expected without a reservation. A buzzer system is used to notify customers when their table is ready, allowing them to wait outside or in their car.

Services: Service can be efficient, though during peak times, there might be minor issues such as a delay in receiving sauces for sushi or a missed drink order. However, staff are generally described as nice. The restaurant offers a military discount, which was appreciated by one customer.

Features: Kobe Teppan & Sushi offers both teppanyaki dishes, such as New York strip, chicken, and shrimp with fried rice and vegetables, and a variety of sushi rolls. One customer who opted for the $20.99 all-you-can-eat dinner found the food to be just okay, noting that they had tasted better sushi elsewhere. In contrast, another customer found the teppanyaki dishes, including the New York strip and the chicken and shrimp, to be absolutely delicious. They also ordered sake. Some customers have observed a potential decrease in the enthusiasm of the hibachi chefs.

Potential Considerations: Customers visiting during busy times should anticipate potential wait times. The quality of the all-you-can-eat option may differ from the regular menu. While some find the teppanyaki dishes excellent, sushi quality might vary compared to specialized sushi restaurants. The level of entertainment from the hibachi chefs might also be inconsistent.

For local users in Live Oak looking for a Japanese dining experience with options for both teppanyaki and sushi, Kobe Teppan & Sushi provides a choice. Be mindful of potential wait times during peak hours and the varying feedback on the all-you-can-eat option versus regular menu items.

Came during Valentine’s Day and the wait was 40 minutes, which I did not mind and I had expected that without reservation. A buzzer was given and we were able to wait in the car until a table was ready for us. The server was nice, but we were not provided sauces until a few minutes after receiving our sushi rolls. I also ordered a drink that I never received, but I get it, Valentine’s Day is busy so I won’t be critical about that. The food was okay, but I’ve had better tasting ones at Kumori and Kin Thai Sushi. I’m assuming because this was the $20.99 all you can eat dinner option that I had selected. Overall, it was an okay experience for my first time.

I had a great experience, but I've noticed that the hibachi chefs don't seem to have as much enthusiasm lately. My husband ordered the New York strip with fried rice and vegetables, and I had the chicken and shrimp with vegetables my husband ordered some sake as well. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. Our total came to about $92, but we appreciated the military discount they offer, which was a nice touch.

This place was really good, staff is super friendly food was great. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars for atmosphere is because the cook we had was really quiet but the others were very entertaining. I had the steak and lobster, both were cooked to perfection.

Dinner at Kobe is such a treat. While our order is simple, the flavor is robust! The food is consistently hot and fresh. Currently, it's my fav spot. The service by Christin is also unmatched! She pays close attention to detail, and she is always very pleasant. We will be back!

We stopped by on a visit from Galveston. We had the all you can eat for $20, which was a great deal, and the chicken teriyaki. All were flavorful. Our food server was attentive and our food was prompt.
